Hey guys I know most of you have better things to discuss but I was just wondering if race really had much to do with anything over all. I want to roll and SK and am leaning DE, thats what I was in eq1 but I just want to make sure I am not hurting my self in the long run. Thanks for any help you can offer.:smileyhappy:

At this point in time, It simply doesnt matter, go with what you want to play.

I like humans because of the traditions they get. But no decision is going to [Removed for Content] you. Unless you choose a gnome or halfling or even Froglok Innoruuk forbid. Then that wont only make you [Removed for Content] but very [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]! :robotmad:

The whole point of being able to pick any race and be able to be a healer, caster, scout or mage is part of the fun though - except froglok Shadowknights, Slaythe (is that spelt right?) was cool - undead frogloks Harmtouching you was not.

Ogers vs Dark elf - oger will have more power due to str. (something thats odd getting used to) But it really doesnt make much difference, would be almost bottom of the list of problems heh, i know people who put all their stats into STA when makeing their character in EQL to give them higher hp's when it came to raid time, how many of them re-rolled to change to alter stats?

But shadowknights dont really suffer to much from strength, most shadowknights will have str as their highest stat imho, without even intending it.

Braellar

pick whichever race looks coolest to you in heavy armor(Barbarian COUGH).

Just don't go with a bald toon like I did...my head looks like a peanut with helm graphic turned off

Diernes wrote:
Unless you choose a gnome or halfling or even Froglok Innoruuk forbid.

Uhm.. Im a halfling and from where I stand(Look down and you'll see me) and I do pretty well. With equipment based on sta/agi and a little str/wis added on that I tank well and have no special problems with the mobs I fight. So choosing 'wrong' race would not be a reason to [Removed for Content]/ungimp yourself. I think its mostly the player who create the '[Removed for Content]' of a character/race combination while other player creates a nice, well working character out of a '[Removed for Content]' race. I asume it evens out even more at higher levels. Pick what you think looks best and what suits you.

Mostly you see DE's, Humans, Ogres, Trolls, and Euridites as SKs... GNOME SK's rule! GNOMERCY!

It makes me laugh when I see a ratonga as a SK. seeing that really tiny horse almost the size of a collie is really funny.

Aye, Githki. The Overlord discovered the Teir'dal population has degraded and become weaker so they had to enlist some of the more sturdy and evil(By actions, not by looks) ones to straighten up the work of the Overlord a bit.

It's all about aesthetics.
