<DIV>My Freeport Crusader is lvl18 atm and once I get him up to SK I plan to take a little trip to Stormhold to see if I can't get my mitts on the Sword of Thunder and do some of the quests there (since we don't seem to have a S of T equivilent in Freeport). I know it could take forever to get one once I get to Stormhold; thats OK, I have the time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know I can get from Freeport to Stormhold by going: Commonlands - Nektolos Forest - TS - Antonica - Stormhold. Is there an easier or quicker way to get there anyone knows of? I know from my limited experience in Nektolos Forest that there are a few things there that could cause bodily harm to a low level SK. TS is not as bad because the road from the docks to the nearest Antonica gate is not that far and no real nasties along the way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was trying to think if there is a way to get there through the sewers/drains/snyes etc., but I can't think of a way. Maybe through the Crypt of the Betrayal?? I dont have any idea. Anyone's thoughts are appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Do you by any chance have your tradeskills high on that character?  If so, you could purchase a ticket to EL and save the Commons/Nek run.  I have two toons betraying and I waited/am waiting to betray until 32 (I think) for the EL ticket.</P> <P>I myself also need to start the SoT camp o' fun, but haven't been yet.  I think there are several entrances but all roads lead to Antonica.  Anyone know the PERFECT level to mentor to and which mobs to focus on.  22 or 24?  They say its rare zone wide, like the Invoker Robe starter, but I see people on ogaming focus on certain mobs just like they do in Feerott.</P> <P>Thanks</P>

<DIV>Thanks for the responses.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have no tradeskill at all on my crusader, so no EL ticket for me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was hoping there was an eaisier way to get to Antonica from the CL, but it doesn't look like it.</DIV> <DIV> Looks like the furious run through the forest to the Nektolos dock, with all kinds of adds hot on my trail. I'm not worried about the TS at all, just the forest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not sure what you meant by waiting to lvl 32 to betray, I thought you had to by lvl 18 but you may be referring to something else. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have been in Stormhold before with an alt and it's my understanding that the S of T can drop from any non-gray MOB. I know for certain that they will drop from a green con because I had one drop from a green just inside the main door. And I know for certain that it is completely random because I got the drop from the very first thing I killed. Only afterwards did I realize how rare the thing is (ended up selling it for 4 pp). That was with a 22 warlock who couldn't use the thing, so I'm sure that now that I need it, I'll have to kill a few hundred MOBs to get it to drop again, if at all! LOL.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Easiest way is to take the boat to TS docks and run to ant. No threat of mobs to aggro you. But that will cost ya 60s per trip.</DIV>

<P>I ran a Level 9 mage from Freeport to Qeynos the other day.  Never sprinted, never caught aggro.  You just gotta pay attention to your surroundings.</P> <P>And if you don't believe me, check this page out:  <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer_levels.vm?characterId=331895202" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer_levels.vm?characterId=331895202</A></P> <P>You don't ding 10 in Oakmyst Forest as a Dark Elf without running through Nek. . . .   Of course, I can't verify that I truly did run it solo and didn't group with someone to gray the zone -- you'll just have to trust me on that.</P> <P>Oh yah, I took a shaman through from Qeynos to Freeport at 12.  I will admit to having SOW up the whole time though, and I did catch aggro from a bear, but it couldn't keep up with me.  Check out where I dinged 13, if you don't believe me:  <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer_levels.vm?characterId=278793201" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer_levels.vm?characterId=278793201</A>  </P> <P>Anyway -- the point is that it's doable at any time with any class, so you should be able to take your crusader through without a problem.  Just be careful, and yes, be ready to sprint.</P>

<P>Thanks everyone for the input, very helpful it is. I just dinged 20 and got my SK wings; gonna grab some heavy armor and make the run over. Good to know others have done it with such regularity. I was only in the NF only one other time, with my 25 paperthin warlock, who can dish it out but not take it (at least not solo). After all the posts, I'm sure I wont have any problems.</P> <P>Thanks Again!</P> <P>Malgoth, 20 SK</P> <P>Innothule</P>

That's pretty sad, if you thought you could betray beyond 17. Now you're stuck with being good. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>Is the Sword of Thunder and Ghoulbane the same?  If it Sword of Thunder is the same, getting to Stormhold may not be as big a problem as getting the quests in Qyenos.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just picked up Ghoulbane as a warlock.  It was a pain in the butt quest.  Too much harvesting and too much camping.  Then go into ToV and pick up the sword.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Its alot easier to make the journey from commonlands -> antonica nowadays... Especially since they removed those [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] bonecutter fish from Nek River several months back... <div></div>

Can a shadowknight get the quests for Ghoulbane?  It requires that you get a stone, and take the stone to the Temple of LIfe.  I know you can avoid the guards, etc, but will the "good' paladin give the quest to the "evil" shadowknight? Just curious. <div></div>

<P>As far as getting the quest starter, create a Qeynosian alt and have someone transfer the stone over to you.  I am not sure whether she speaks to Freeporters.</P> <P>All other NPCs in the Ghoulbane quest speak to Freeporters to advance the Ghoulbane quest, so yes, a shadowknight can get the Ghoulbane.</P><p>Message Edited by Vitriolic on <span class=date_text>05-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:24 PM</span>
