Is your Tainted Essence working today?

Mine was generating the essence for me.  Sometimes it wont hit very well on double up mobs.  Also, the tainted soul is not consuming the essence from my inventory any more.  I can have zero tainted essences and still produce my tainted soul.

<P>Mine either got resisted or never stuck every time I cast it last night, probably 20 times.  I was fighting reds deep in CT though.</P> <P>The tainted soul would always draw its essence from the stack I keep in the bank and not from the partial stack that I keep in my inventory.</P>

<P>I used Tainted Caress many many times yesterday both before and after I made the original post, on grey, on green, on blue, and on yellow.  At one point I even started a fight with a grey mob and used nothing BUT Tainted Caress for the entire fight.  I reposted the mob to the ground before I was able to generate an essence.  My pet indeed does require the essence still but as of this posting this morning and after a days worth of casting Tainted Caress I have managed to generate only 1.  Not even sure when that happened.</P> <P>Seems to me that even if the spell was working as designed, or even as described in it's spell description, a 7% chance of success should still not be able to be resisted by anything short of a red con enemy.  7% minus the possibility of resistance by a level 22 mob (when being fought by a level 32 SK) equals, you ain't getting no essences today.</P>

<P> </P> <P>Now that you mentioned it, I started checking... I had over 80 tainted essences on me before the patch. Now I'm down to only 18. They are definitely not being generated at the rate they were before. My spell states I have a 9% chance of generating an essence every hit. This should more than make up for the rate at which I use them if I cast both spells on every encounter (which I always do). Obviously, this is no longer the case since the last patch. :smileysad:</P> <P>What I suspect they have done is to limit the number of essences you can get from each mob to one. </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

Am getting a lot less essences than before the patch...something has changed - confirmed over the last few days... This keeps getting broken, fixed, broken, fixed, nerfed, etc then next? <div></div>

Something I noticed last night that did not appear to be occuring previously: if I fight a shadowknight mob (example Nightbloods in RV), the mob will occasionally cast Cursed Caress on *me*, preventing my own from sticking at all.  Any ideas if this is working as intended or just a bad stacking issue which slows down our Essence production even more?

<P>I noticed tonight that my Tainted Caress (App II) does not work when I have Urza's Horrid Curse active.  Both have a 7% chance of procing.  So now when I want to build up my essence supply I switch back to Grim Harbringer until I have enough.</P> <P>I guess I know now why it is called the Horrid Curse</P>

Tainted Essence is broken for me as well, I cast tainted caress every fight but have not received any  essence crystals since the last patch. Last night I had to raid my bank vault for my emergency supply. Hopefully this is fixed soon, I have 100 essence crytals left now. Scorpoinblade Level 30 SK Kithicor <div></div>

Cursed Caress works just fine for me at Adept 1. Over the past 2 nights I've gotten close to 150 of them.    On some encounters it would fire up to 4 times. <div></div>

after lu #8 I noticed cursed caress is getting a lot more resisted on heroic encounters - green or not If use it on gray, then I get many during 1 encounter - I wasn't experiencing this before lu #8 - not saying it's broken, just noticed a change in behavior... <div></div>
