<DIV>Ive been reading on these forums about how SKs arnt welcome on raid and such and that we dont help at all. But still i kept on lvling and hoping that this was not true.  Well today i finally found out the truth. I had just joined one of the higher lvl guilds on my server and today we were supposed too raid. Being very exited for finaly getting too raid the high lvl epic mobs i made my way too EL and and waited with my fellow guildmates while others arrived too kill the 3group ^^^nightblood in EL. After waiting for all too arrive for about 15 mintues it turned out we had 19 people there.=( </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> I  looked around  seeing that i was the only SK there i rlly hoped i wudnt be the one that had too sit out. I was one of the higher lvl people we had there ,lvls ranging from 42 too 50. Me being 46.Well what do you know guess who the guild leader asked too leave the raid because they were a [Removed for Content] SK that rlly isnt vry good at anything? ME. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now there were 4 tanks at this raid 2 Gaurdians a bruiser and me. But why would you need a SK for a backup tank when you have another guardian? Why would you need the SK in the MT group for buffs when you have a bruiser? Why would you need the SK in the grp when you have scouts and casters that triple my DPS? Then i finaly realized why nobody wants SKs too be in a raid. Its because we are good at absolutly NOTHING. Sure we can tank.... but not as well as a guardian... sure we can do some damage... but not as well as a scout or mage... can we heal ? no.. do we have rlly nice buffs? no... so what are we good at? Nothing.... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i just cant find anything that would make a SK stand out.. <STRONG><EM><U><FONT size=4>there is nothing that a SK has too offer that another class cannot give</FONT></U></EM></STRONG>.. absoltly nothing.. please somone prove me wrong and name somthing us shadowknights can do that no other class can.. please</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>srry if this topic has been brought up a million times but i just felt i had too say this</DIV>

Just another misinformed Raid leader is all. With a manastone and a good weapon our DPS can rival, and in some cases even surpass Monks/Bruiser DPS. You don't have despoiling mist yet, so you're missing the one thing that SK's bring to a raid that is special. Also, did the Raid leader tell you to take off because you're an SK or are you assuming he did? Reason I ask is that if you're a new recruit to a guild you'll always be booted because of seniority unless you're a healer of some kind. <div></div>

<DIV>Everyone complains about SK's raiding but I have yet to be turned down on a raid (currently lvl 49.6). The guild I am in on my server has more SK's 48+ than any other and on every raid, every one of those SK's that is online goes to the raid. Our role is plain and simple DPS. Get your best 2 hander out, put evasive manuevers on the MT if he's in your group, if not put it on the best scout. Put GoA on the MT (if in grp). Keep insatiable hunger up at all times. Keep the raid mob debuffed with insidious whisper and shriek of terror (don't overcast of course). Assist the MA and just wail on every mob you can till it's dead. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I and several other SK guildies have come to find out that with an adept3 pet and high strength at level 50 an SK can out dps scouts. There will be no more questions here about SK's role in raiding. It is dps, not tanking. Every guild that does large raids groupx3 and groupx4 has their own guardians to do the tanking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4 SK's were present here:</DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://eq2images.station.sony.com/000/000/603/139.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and 3 Sk's were present here:</DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://eq2images.station.sony.com/000/000/617/071.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The guild leader knows the strength of the SK and uses it all he can. I think problems come when other leaders don't.</DIV><p>Message Edited by megatraum on <span class=date_text>04-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:40 AM</span>

<P>Also can support MT by giving str/agi/sta buff on him/her and offer AC boost to that MT as well to solidify MT if you don't tank during raids..</P> <P>The boost is pretty noticable and MT loves that.</P>

Great post mega.  Its good to see some high level shadowknights putting forth some proof that we do have something to offer to the table.  I think there are a lot of misconceptions by guild leaders/raid leaders that shadowknights are [Removed for Content].  I for one know that I have no problem tanking in a group setting and that when I am not the MT my dps is very high due to a nice arsenal of weapons, manastone, and wise consumption of power.

<div></div>My guild leader is a 48 SK and am sure he knows his/our potential <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  - I think it's a bonus when you have a guild being run by an SK - lol <div></div><p>Message Edited by Pheebau on <span class=date_text>04-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:19 PM</span>

<DIV>Great post. I've just hit 19 and completed my quest to become a SK, it's nice picking up information to see that SK's are a viable class in raids and higher end situations. The high dps knowledge astounds me thanks !</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm only new I find that I can tank reasonably well with moderate dps, I have average equipment as this is my first character and coin is a little hard to come by :smileymad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> I was generating alot of aggro with my taunts. Recently I picked up information on this forum that SK buffs generate even more aggro which I found very positive and I have yet to test it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Overall it's early days but my research  is showing that a thinking SK can make positive contributions to groups.</DIV>

<DIV> my guild has 4 SKs 48+, we've always welcome in raid.  In the case of number exceeding raid slots showing up, we usually kicks out the lower levels instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If guild leader kicks an SK , and that because they think we're useless, that's *$%#&! wrong.  We can DPS very well, we can tank as well in some case better tank than a guardian.   I think your guild leader just misinform as stated above about our abilities in raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next time if you get kick, ask your guild leader why kick you, a fair reason, not just SKs are useless in raid non sense.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Xiene on <span class=date_text>04-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:36 PM</span>

<DIV>Quick question for megatraum.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Your screen shots show none of the default brown border at the top and bottom. Is there an option for that in my display settings or is it something more difficult to fiddle around with to remove the top and bottom brown borders.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for any info.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cheers.</DIV>

<DIV>Yup, despoiling mist is our claim to fame. 1200 decrease to physical mitigation is HUGE. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have yet to find an adept 1 on the broker, just /tell your local alchemist for an app4.
