Personally, I am not noticing anything at all.

It only affects mob DoTs on you. Your DoTs on mobs do not get mitigated.

So basically , add our dot line to the list of spells that take way to much power for the cost, good , ill remove that one too =/, lets see, im down to .....5 arts that are any good.

I haven't parsed it yet (dont have a parser myself) but my level 40 adept2 upgrade to vile coil seems to be hitting for 72-76 per tick, not a huge difference. although before patch it would always hit for 76. So this does make sense when you take into account the it decreases poison/disease mitigation on target(reason why i got it). sorry to hear it makes such a huge difference on the previous versions of our coil line

I must have been getting gipped because my Grim Coil only ever hit three times, before and after the patch. Still do the same damage after as I did before.

Aye, its basically a nerf to our DOT spells only. It doesn't affect our DD spells at all.

Before the patch... My lvl 40+ class specialization dot spell always does 77 dmg (at lvl 43) per tick with serious disease/poision debuff on mob. I love that spell alot. Never do other than 77. It's ALL-OR-NOTHING spell. If resisted, no damage at all. No DOT in effect. If landed, 77 dmg is GUARANTED.

Post patch. It's PARTIAL-OR-NOTHING spell. If resisted, no damage at all. No DOT in effect. If landed, 77 dmg is NOT Guaranteed. I never seen 77 dmg so far. I usually see variance of 60's damage. Sometimes its 68 dmg for 4 ticks. Somtimes 64 dmg per tick, etc. I guess it checked mob's resist and our DOT effect got mitigated. I like DOT-mitigation concept but please upgrade our DOT spells as trade-off. Thanks. Our DOT pre-patch is WELL-balanced and useful. SOE made it even more useless and DD spells are now more attractive than before all cuz they are not nerfed.

ODDLY ENOUGH.. My disease cloud that does 31 dmg per tick is STILL 31 per tick even after patch. IT'S NOT AFFECTED BY DOT MITIGATION. Quite inconsistancy there..

Message Edited by Nocifer Deathblade on 04-07-2005 06:04 AM

Who cares? Coil was less mana efficient than most of our DDs anyway. Just means it's put into rank directly behind plague sword rather than directly in front.

Ya our coil line sucked to begin with, and i only used it when I had a chanter in tow able to keep my power pool up.

It effects everyone, not just us. Also I personally love being able to resist some of those nasty dots that mobs do.

Not all mobs have high resist but most high lvl mobs have high disease resistance. That is why sometimes the damage doesn't change to pre LU#6. Also if you think about it; we have the most diseased based attacks of all the tanks. It is more than just Grim coil. Even though it affects everyone we are feeling it the most. Our DPS neded a little boost not this.

the DoT reduction is not on all mobs. only on those with high enough disease resistance. i was in MM last night with guild raiding groupx4 mobs- skels, minos, and ice golems- sometimes my Vile Coil did as low as 57 dmg per tick, and other times it landed its max of 82 (at lvl 4. it all depends on their resists. so better start using shriek of terror to debuff.
