View Full Version : Something I noticed about Knghts Stance vs Lucan's Pact

I was looking over the skills that changed with these spells and noticed that with either spell, the change to mitigation and avoidance were identical, however what was odd was that Knights stance not only raised our defense skill, but it raised all of our shield skills as well, buckler, round shield, and Kite Shield. It also of course lowered all our offensive weapon skills. Now looking at Lucan's Pact, Same exact Mitigation and avoidance, only offensive skill that went down was crushing, but there were no changed to the shield skills. Due to this, one would think that Knights Stance is actually better since the shield increase should up our blocking ability. Any opinions? I can post exact numbers later if you all would like. I am just thinking that for all intensive purposes, Lucan's Pact should be an Upgrade to Knights stance. Maybe I am wrong.

Note first that in these comparisons I am comparing Knights Stance Adept3 to Lucan's Pact Adept1.

Aye, Lucan's pact is good for those who uses 2h slashing like to solo or whatever cuz lucan's pact doesn't affect shield BUT it didn't sacrfice slash as well. Use knight's stance if you use shield to tank but you will lose some of offense. Why need offense if tank. Both are good situationally.

True true, I can see the benefit and that does make sense so I guess they are both situational. Thanks a ton. I do however wonder if this was intentional or accidental.

-Yeah I'm So hurt that the one star bandit hit me but lacked the intestinal fortitude to post something. Some peoples kids, yeesh.

Alot of past topics on this already, but just to add some more info to your newly affirmed insight.

Level 20 Training Zarn's Deadly Aura, the level 20 Training of Knight's Stance, is of adept 2 quality but also comes with spell avoidance which is REALLY nice as I have seem it help a lot. If you didnt choose it and still have respec, its definitly a contender for choosing... the only downfall is you already have Knight Stance at adept 3 so you will lose out a little but gain a little too...

Zarn's Deadly Aura is used by many tank Shadowknights until level 44 and by that time it has been grey for almost 10 levels (Its just the spell that keeps on giving ^_^).

I like Lucan's pact because it does not affect slashing - it has a nice AC against poison... I have not /respect yet (being 35) - I wonder how good a knight stance Adept3 is Has anyone got the stats for it? Thanks. btw I heard from some 45+ SK that circle you get a 44.6 still is not as good as Zarn's deadly aura which some keep on using thereafter...

Message Edited by Pheebau on 03-24-2005 11:54 AM
