View Full Version : Tainted Sacrament Messed UP!

<DIV>Last night after the new patch was up, I went on EL with my 36SK for soloing. When I triggered tainted sacrament, the pet was up and working fine. However, when the next fight was on, my tainted sacrament got resisted and no pet, but I couldn't trigger it again after the first failure. So I was thinking it wouldn't let me recast it once it failed, although I could recast it as many times as it wanted in the past. I went on the next fight, and I still couldn't even use it. The spell was appeared to be unavailable or locked, and I kept click it and it's still not casting. I had to zone out and the spell resetted. What is going on?? Is this a spell bug? Normally when I cast it, the spell will show me the time of the next recasting; however, this time it didn't show anything and it seems that I can only cast it 1 time and if it fails, I won't be able to recast it during or after the fight. God! this is getting on my nerve cuz pets are useful when solo or in group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>any idea? </DIV>
<DIV>just a guess as to why its happening, when the spell got resisted (which probably shouldnt have a resistance check) the spell failed to go off, however since the spell was never intended to be resisted (failed yes, and the recast timer kicks in, but resisted no) it is in the games mind the spell is still being cast (hence the re cast timer never begins) and there is no error handling to check if some spell has failed to fire. But I could be completely wrong, if others are getting this error it could be a rather crippling event and should be reviewed, if its just you you might be up the creek.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for a temporary fix have you tried zoning or camping, admittedly these are not ideal in a group setting but can be done while soloing and should clear up any garbage resisted but non failed spells.</DIV>

<DIV>I noticed it was behaving strangely last night too. I was able to summon the pet, but the pet window refused to appear. If people can confirm these bugs, I'll add them to the list of Shadowknight issues.</DIV>

Happened to me too, same way the OP stated...darned annoying. I was saddened not to have Polly, the parrot of Doom fighting with me. <div></div>

One problem I'm seeing since the last patch is that sometimes when I cast Tainted Sacrament, the Tainted Soul will not spawn but I do NOT get a "resisted" message so I have to do it again and then it works, loosing 1 essence which I don't care obviously since we get enough...happened to me at mid-range mostly... Both pet and Draw Strength are now messed up after resists. Cannot cast either.../bug in game....Sheesh. this sucks.

Neither of my str stealing spells ever seemed to work. Maybe it's because I've got the adept 1 versions. Go figure.</DIV>

No, i kept it at App 1 after I read about the /bug.It was working just like the pet this evening until it was resisted first. Then it stopped. I was like "[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] is up?"Well, I kept playing then my pet resisted and it stopped working. Thats when I put the 2 together and came here and saw more posts of the same.This is really sad. The second time our pet gets /bugged over an intended fix.Ever feel like you have red hair and one of your parents isnt biological?

I used a pet a couple times during those fights, but then when we began on the named mobs I could not cast my pet; the icon was dark. It stayed this way until I zoned out after we were finished. </P> <P>I hadn't noticed my pet get resisted, but that very well could be the cause.</P>

I want the pet hp window back to. I split pull double mob spawns with my pet. Once he aquires aggro I let him tank for me while I dispact one of the mobs. I'm doing this in EL for adds and 2 mob pulls. Mine is adept 3. By the time I've killed my mob my pet is almost dead, but the mob he's fighting is usually around 50% or lower. I want the pet window back so I can see if I need to ward him or not. Some times I want that extra time to deal with what I'm doing without the other mob jumping me. If I need to run I'd also like to be able to monitor his hp in case at some point he aquires aggro. I could tell before if he had aggro by his hp bar and that sometimes may affect my actions.

I think the reason it turns grey after casting is so we can not recast the same pet on a new mob before teh first one is gone, and have to wait for the timer to expire properly... only instead we are locked out from using it because the pet does not leave/timeout/die.</P> <P>DEVS HELP... Might talk to some UI authors to point me in the proper direction to make a HP/power only disply that would mainly be for SK's. No pet controls. I'm sure the function is still there, but it's just coded not to pop up the XML window for it. I'm sure there is a way around it. <div></div>

I can open the pet window with ALT-P and nothing shows up. :smileysad:</P> <P>I don't see the harm in us having a health status bar for our pet.</P>
