Before anyone even TRIES to flame this or get their panties in a wad over it let me point out a couple things:

1. It takes 3+ minutes to kill anything big when kiting.

2. There are not many places that are very good for using this method.

3. Caster mobs are very hard/sometimes impossible to kill using this method.

4. I've pushed this method to the max, or as far as I can with adept3's and the exp/time is far inferior to grouping.

5. Farming is more lucrative with a group in Obelisk or some other places than running around solo hoping to get the odd named spawn which happens to be in an area you can kite in/non caster/appropriate level to kill.

6. Other classes can do this too.

You don't want to do this if a mob can root you Everytime I run my spells get interrupted...am assuming taunt ones are not? you could also cast your 2 pets and buf them I casted the pet and did not attack - I've seen the mob(s) focusing on the pet only...was pretty cool as I was buffing the pet...

I'm playing a crusader because I wanted to get away from running in circles. In eqlive I would get 40 or more mobs packed together then run them into the ground using short range AE attacks. I don't call that solo ownage, I call that silly... It's funny to watch other SKs on my server do it though, I get a kick out of that.

And to be honest, I think many would do the same thing, if the mob in question dropped an item that they were after. If, however, this is his only effective method of getting exp, then what you said would be appropriate.

This works at lower levels too, especially easier with Jboots, but once again worthwhile ?

Not really , did it a few times for my lvl 35+ writs but time/effort is not worth it.

yeah bruisers can kite too for the most part without big problems, while its not as efficient as this method cause once the mob gets a hold of us we are doomed..lol

but we have a fear stun positional big attack combo, that can be used repeatedly to keep the mob off balance.

Ha, it wouldn't be nerfed at all. SK pet kiting is very common in EQ1 especially in hard areas such as GoD and PoP and some other classes did the same thing. It was legit method of killing. SK used to fear kiting to kill which is more effective than pet kiting. However, fear got capped at lvl 54 and never went higher and SKs retorted to pet kiting. Now, DON is easier on mobs and SK FINALLY tanks to kill for decent experience. Thank god.

Now, part of class re-balance plan.. SK plans to get fear working once again all way to lvl 70 and don't need to do pet kiting anymore. What does that show? SOE obviously viewed pet kiting/ fear kiting as valid legit methods other than tanking.

What we did in EQ2 is still legit and very similar to EQ1 and I don't see the heck reason why it gets nerfed. The reason why bard kiting was nerfed is cuz bard could kite many mobs at once and get massive experience. Enchanter charming method was another example and got nerfed as well. SK can't do that at all on either way. SOE dislikes anything that offers MASSIVE experience for soloing that is far excess than group xp rate. If SK in EQ2 kited a mob that offered less xp per hour solo than group xp would be then it will not be nerfed at all period.

Hi there...

Ok ive been away so i couldnt check the reply i might get from this post.

hmm ok 1st..Yes i know its called kiting (thanks) the reason I put it in simple terms is coz there is a huge amount of people playing EQ2 that never played EQ.

Silly? if i can solo a named for chest drops why is it silly?

Takes ages? nah i was testing it in Obelisk on Nightbloods blue^^ 2 mins and i got more exp than 2mins in a group...thing is power regen slows u down so yes groups are better.

My only way of getting exp? come on now i have a huge list of friends all of which have me marked as MT.

Why do it? ok there is always times when u just cant get a group or u havnt got enough time to join a group. If i have a spare hour to play im not gonna join a group just to leave them in the lurch before we get going am i?

Yes it is boring but then so is chain pulling blue/white solo mobs...mix it up abit.

Learn my class? plz.....why cant I play my class?

Ok and the last thing.....ive heard that a 43 SK has been soloing Zargoth in Obelisk. for the chest drops any1 tryed it?

Guess some1 is gonna flame me for this post also

/ peace
