View Full Version : Tithe points allocation no longer friendly to alts?

Question. If they're moving towards baubles for increasing deity skills, then this puts a halt really on what little our alts currently make now? You just can't go out now, wack a few mobs and then allocate what little tithe points you have earned to potency, crit bonus or stamina. Well, you can allocate them but only towards 3 temp spells and after that it gets lock at 10 points until you use those spells and allocate more point to spells. So much for this being alt friendly.
They may yet deliver on the making highest tithe point character apply to all characters on account and it feeds into one global pool, rather than separate pools for each toon.

Though I have yet to see a post from them saying they scrapped that plan or they still working on it. The 50% potency bauble thing from panda man is a good tide me over till they pull through on that one, if they do. The amount of CB on new gear sort of make capping out CB almost not an issue and the Orange PG runes make the STA one all but irrelevant. Some other things to consider.
If the baubles are heirloom I think it makes it easier on alts because you can get the bauble while playing your main, and just move it over to the alt if you want. There's a diminishing benefit curve to tithe, so you might decide 1% more potency on your alt is worth more than say another 0.25% increase on your main. (compared to before where you only earned tithe on the exact character you were playing at that moment)

Honestly, I'm glad they cut off the possibility to endlessly grind tithe and having to constantly spend points but the current implementation will just lock in the divide between Haves and Have Nots. Whether that's an ALT, returning player or someone changing main character. The panda bauble was a great step to reduce that divide but only affects potency (more on that later).

The system now relies entirely on grinding still but at the mercy of low chance RNG and does not take into account the current values the current character has so someone that has 70 points in Potency has the same chance to up that by 1 point as someone who has 50. Someone that has 40 CB has the same chance to increase that by 1 point as someone who has 5 ...

While I agree the points in STA are now next to useless, the points in CB have far reaching implications since CB over cap does count for conversions like Enhanced Vigor (more % Health) and the left side Prestige CB to Potency conversion.

Also, the excess CB can also be used to reforge into needed stats to flesh out a build. For example, the mobs now have a Doublecast debuff of 40-60-80% for T1-2-3 Heroics (more for Raid) so I reforged my Troub into 1100 Casting Speed (hard cap, 37.5 DC), that would not be possible without a lot of excess CB while using only the CB to Pot conversion in the Prestige tree...

When I saw the 3 factions being nearly identical in their rewards I thought "ooh, make a bauble for each of the tithe points and give a different one to each faction, that will help people get caught up a bit and would help differentiate the rewards", then I remembered Pot is already on the panda merchant. Then I thought maybe put a CB / STA bauble as reward for the signature line but that seems lazy and boring ...

My suggestion now is, instead of putting the +1 baubles in RNG crates, put them up for sale on a merchant that can be bought with the mission currency (not the damn PQs currency please). Have different tiers like "up to 10 points" being incredibly cheap and up to 70 being a sizeable trade-off between a piece of gear or an extra deity point. If you implement this, please think of how long it would take to get enough coins to purchase each tier when pricing them.

This would allow devs to cap the max value for the expansion if they wanted and help lessen the gap by having higher tiers be more expensive and lower tiers be easily accessible. Maybe more importantly, it would give the players choice in their investment instead of the horrible low chance RNG grind and would give another incentive to run a lot of the content (solos, duos, Heroics and Raid).

This is not an alt friendly xpac. the gems needed for heroic gear are NOT heirloom, and with the many hours it will take to run all the zones unless you play 24/7, you will be on your main. I am just not sure how stopping the grind for tithe is gonna be fair unless they give a babble to make us all some what equal. Some of us have high numbers in the stats now so aren't to concerned about it, but for alts its a killer! Ouch hehe

Yep all of them have been flagged no-trade for some reason even the base unrefined gems, they should be heirloom. The raid ones have additional restrictions on them anyway so not sure why they made that change or if that change was just a slip of the finger. It is not like people are going to run the content like maniacs at the start anyway. /shrug
On a side note seems to be a new merchant that converts some gems into loot crates that can slightly more specifically reward things for specific slots including the tithe pot/cb/sta stuff depending on what you feed the merchant.
