Ok to start off I'm not an SK, I be a dirge. I am in a grouping trio of SK, Dirge, and Warden. Our tank usually has absolutly no problem holding agro on single ^^ mobs and even in the small groups of ^ mobs. The problem is when we play with the larger groups, from what he says the only way he can keep them all on him with any amount of ease is if he uses his AE attacks. Well as we all know using AE atacks in the ruins of varsoon isn't always the brightest thing to do. I will crowd control in a pinch if need be, but as a bard type character, I can only keep 1 at bay at a given time. Usually what happens now is he will take on the biggest hitter and the healer, and depending on the situation, Ill atack off him, or I will take out big threats that are easy to to kill such as mages.

I am not a strainger to tanking, heck I have 1, but im not fully familiar with SKs abilities, so I was just looking for any sugjestions on how he can manage agro in a group w/o a crowd controler and w/o adding in non agroing mobs with AE attacks.

i play both a sk and a zerker, its much harder for a sk to hold aggro, have to taunt, buff use anything that is grp based to control aggro, the druid and shammy class makes it harder in a three man grp, no problem with a clr what so ever.Clr type heal buff gives aggro to the holder each time it goes of, only the cast gives aggro to the healer, plus some buffs that that proc also gives aggro to the healer, this is true for shammies anyway, not sure with druids. It will get better at lvl 35+ lvl 25-35 is hard times for sk'sSee alot of disease clous master 1 spells for sale these days (lvl 31 single sk taunt) saw one today for 40g it drops of named in runnyeye. The zerker on the other hand can almost hold aggro with a wiz on the wrong target, mobs stick to him like glue without him even trying to keep it. I duo much with my friend, and most of the time we bring in a dps'er, but if i play the sk its best to stay of grped mobs if there is more than three. I feel on the other hand that sk's are stronger at single targets.try asking you friend if hes using the toughness spell much over lookedHappy hunting/cheers
Message Edited by buggie on 03-10-2005 04:35 PM
