View Full Version : Sigline reward: ability to travel between maldura and the elven city.
Where does it go when you receive it? I looked in my inventory and in my spell -book and can't seem to find it.

Good question. Is there a portal that opens up like how they did it in Velious between the two Otter villages?
I went over to maldura to look for a portal I didn't find one.

There is the same portal next to Arcanna'Se Spire Entrance that you have in New Halas.
It allows you to travel from Thalumbra to Obulous Frontier and vice versa. That's it.

It activates the small golden pillar in front of the Spire portal in Thalumbra (in Abyssal Gorge) and the one in Nye'Caelona (along the edge of the upper main part). Nothing in inventory, it just lets you use the pillars.
Let's assume a player doesn't have access to ToT collectors edition guild hall clicky thingy. They have to go to Greater Faydark or Neriak to access the Thalumbra portal. Then they have to fly the big "C" in Thalumbra just to reach the clicky. Too much travel time. This is a really bad "reward". The alternative is spending 8 months on a sokokar. Both options are too time consuming. At a minimum the tunnel right outside of Maldura that would allow fast access to this portal should be opened by default (without having to do old quests).

Instead I think they should have just made this portal accessible in Kunzar Jungle or Kylong Plains. Especially now that Thalumbra isn't a requirement.

To be honest I don't feel like there is a reward versus effort for the sigline. The mount is mediocre and this travel option is pointless. The sig line is painful and long. For that reason I feel like we're being jipped on rewards. It should have a best in slot or something. Anything. Just not this.

I have absolutely no incentive to do this expansion on my alts. Which means I'm going to get bored faster than normal.

These sig line rewards are bad for customer retention!

So it seems I was wrong in one thing: The Nye'Caelona port to Thalumbra doesn't bring you to Arcanna'se spire, even though the Thalumbra port to Obulus Frontier is located there. So its not quite as useful as I thought, unless they fix that.

The way I see it this portal is less useful to be used as a shortcut to get to Obulus, its more useful as a shortcut to get from Obulus to the entrance to Arcanna'se Spire, since the port brings you right in front of the zone in. It can also be useful as a shortcut from Maldura to Obulus if you've unblocked the tunnel.

Thinking about it, they should have portals in Nye'Caelona that go next to Lost City of Torsis and Kaesora, to make this reward even more useful and pretty much let you get from Obulus to the entrance to any of the instances.

Also would help to get back to Obulus from any of these instances, and get between the instances quickly.

There is also the Teleport Hammer to get to Jarsath Wastes Docks. Then it is just one ride over to the Zone IN. Not the best but it's what I'm currently doing.
