You mean you didn't get fully immersed in the content with no POI? Mind blowing. But seriously though everyone just used the wiki in ToT= less immersion then having POI. No POI is silly with the bad descriptions these quests give. Cant wait for the epic 2.0 quests that don't tell you anything.

A big slice of eq2 players love to do heroics and raid we hate questing no wikie makes us just not play your game it's that simple.

If you are a level 100 crafter you should have track harvestables. I used that to track for me and it helps a lot. Orrrr you can
beta copy a scout with tracking if you have one or a class that has tracking. Just tossing out some ideas to maybe help you enjoy this expac.
I was floundering too so i know your grief, ask in general chat for help, people are willing to help.
To all those who like to toss snide remarks in gen chat when people ask for help,, just cool it, so those of us without your skill or your special class can get help.

Ranger merc also can track. What are some suggestions for changes to dialogue etc that could be made to assist with these quests?

I'm guilty of this help with POI also. I started back in '04 when they weren't there any. Can't remember when they added them I complained then just got use to them and then they took them away. I still struggle but keep eq2 map updated and wiki ready just in case.
Since I need to get eyes checked again, i do have issues reading the dialogue more clearer on wiki when someone posts the dialogue for me.

I just feel that taking a major feature away like this is bad for EQ2. The game has aged a lot now by today's standards, and any issue that could loose any players isn't good.
Also, forcing people to relay on outside sources such as wiki causes less immersion - do you want people playing the game or reading a web page?

Im just hoping the awesome people that fill out the wiki are hardcore on beta right now so i can actually do the quests when KA goes live

Having access to beta is cool, but with no quest tracking or wiki available i just find myself becoming lost and bored. I mean no offense to the devs, but quest dialog alone just isn't enough for me. I don't have hours to simply wander around hoping to find what I need.
I really miss having the quest tracking on the map, which could actually cause me to stop playing EQ2 in the future. I am thankful to the people that do update wiki, but that is becoming less reliable these days.
So here i am, an older casual gamer, finding my favorite game changing under my feet. I guess I don't fit the demographic anymore.

Happy travels, and safe hunting

I was also a bit confused when I started beta and had to read up on a few things to help me get started. Then I was stuck a few times due to having to figure things out. Initially I was annoyed/frustrated, but as I went on and tried to figure out the quests I found that instead of just rushing through a bunch of quests as I used to I actually enjoyed the new-found feeling of actually accomplishing something when I finally overcame barriers along the way.

My problem is that with the zones so dark and some of the quest objects one is looking for, it makes it extremely difficult to keep from going blind. A little sparkle around the quest object would be helpful. Otherwise, it the dark zone and the object looking just like most of the rest of the things in zone, it is really hard many of us.

It is beta and if the clues are obscure or not helpful that's when /feedback and /bug (if applicable) come in. Before you realize you've moved on from being frustrated to actually looking for those clues and what will help you advance.

I think the devs have dramatically underestimated the percentage of the population that literally hates questing and just plows trhu the unavoidable ones as quickly as possible so they can get back to having fun.

I have at least a couple of them in my guild who are astonishing when it comes to giving you help at any point in a quest. (Thanks Zarinah) People in general chat do help a lot, but joining a guild, I'm in Resisting a Rest on Beta, can make things a lot easier. There were a couple of places where the questline (both adventure and TS) breaks off and you basically have to fly around looking for where to pick it back up. But the point of beta is to catch those things and help fix them =D.

I love quests. I hate raid.

Is there a way to get to expan without questing? Are we really forced into questing to even play group/raid zones? Or will a guild flag be able to bypass it?

Funny but my brightness/contrast and gamma is just fine in all the other zones, even zones like Nek. They have been for 13 years both here an EQ. The biggest problem is that the runes are so small, they are the same color as the ground half the time. Not everyone is 18-21 with excellent eyesight and if they are going to make them so small and look like everything around them, then they could at least put a little sparkle on them or make them somewhat larger. They want feedback, I am giving them feedback.

So questing is prolly a good idea anyway, or doing adv solos which I think mostly are in the KA zone
