Bruisers Nerfed

<DIV>[I cannot control my vocabulary]!!! what did SOE do to Bruisers!! I used to be able to take on 3-4 at a time and walk away with 3/4 life. Now if I take on 2 at a time, they resist more and I leave with 1/2 life (example, at lvl 70 killing trees in Bonemire). Someone mentioned that this was done for PVP servers. Well I find that deplorable. People have said that some classes are too powerfull, I beleve that if you truly LEARN your class, its not that your "too powerfull" its that you KNOW your class and now to play it well.</DIV>

Here is what i belived happened......You had to spend 3 to 5 hours without the game, so by the time you got in you not only lost some of your edge but you were so excited that you did things differently. When you have time to settle down you will realize this is all a dream and everquest never existed.

<P>All I know is that they changed the resist to everything. ie: my warden at 44 was mezzed by a lvl 21 illusionist. Resist rates are screwy in PvP that's just how it is. You may resist everything from an equal level opponent most of the time but a lower level opponent can still land spells on you occasionally. Probably for balance reasons on the second point... The overall resists are poor though, having high mitigation to spell damage should be good enough. Being higher level doesn't make me outright resist physical attacks, for example. And as a bruiser, casters are an utter joke to beat. It wouldn't hurt me if they could like, land a spell now and then.. lol<div></div>

I don't think we were nerfed, just rebalanced slightly. My solo game is definately weaker now but my group tanking is much improved. I even stood against an orange con^^^ and didn't die. This is what Bruisers have been asking a trade off for better tanking with less solo ablity.<div></div>

<DIV>It really isn't just bruisers, but they changed resistability of spells.  To put it bluntly, they made it harder to resist spells.    At level 70, if a lvl 53 casts on me, I should have been able to resist most if not all of the spells cast on me.  A group of low to mid 50's (obviously, I'm on pvp server) decided to test this on me, and lo and behold, I rarely resisted their spells.   Even though the tank really couldn't hit me at all (as it shoudl be since I am 20 levels higher), the casters' spells hit me about 85% of the time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally, I think that is pretty lame.  If you aren't familiar with pvp server, there are level ranges in which you can attack someone.  You can attack anyone of higher level regardless of how much higher they are, but you can't initiate and attack on anyone below a specific level range depending on the zone you are in (which is fair, saves the lvl 20's from being farmed for faction by the level 70's).   So basically, SOE made it possible for a group of lowbies to go out and take out solo high levels (I didn't die, just FYI, but could have).  Just when you thought your resists would offer you a good bit of protection from the "hide and nuke 'em" persons, SOE goes and makes it even more difficult for a melee.  If we happen to get rooted, it's over.   Try fighting a wiz with mana shield and high focus now.  "oh, you got 6k cold resist...."  BAM, Ice Nova critically hits you for 8,500 points of damage.  You have died.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If ya ask me, what I think happened is that an oversight was made.  I don't think that decreasing resistability was necessarily a bad thing, but it should have somehow been done to only affect within specific level ranges.  A lvl 53 shouldn't be able to cast on a lvl 70 and hit 85% of the time.</DIV>
