....to the good ole days of smacking mages around and stuffing halflings into pickel barrels? Now-a-days, it seems to be all about, what class playes best with me?, I don't understand AA's, HELP ME, what color weapon should I use to make me look cool? There was actual useful information for soloing nameds, where to go to get that [Removed for Content] ring that gave you +12deflection....I don't know maybe the good bruiser left and the new crop of ball kickers seems to be left helpless. There are a few of you (I guess I can included myself), that have been here since the begining. I guess I just want to say Hi to those that have been around and not playing a F.O.T.M. class. and I'd also like to ask the new guys to read the boards for your info, and post your own info on how you whopped up the Terrible Tissue of Pr0nz with only half health.Until then Im just gonan drink away.

Been bruising since March 05, just don't frequent the bruiser boards so much because it's the same old, same old... Maybe I should do something useful with my time and do an updated FAQ sometime...

Guess we are not the flavor of the month anymore, EoF broke our neck as tanks. I never intended to be a pure dps (Its fighter class grml). But well, swashy char is happy to be played again...

A new FAQ would be nice! Especially with all of the changes that have gone through!I am somewhat torn at being happy we aren't FOTM, and being upset we got broken as a tankage goes.

I am still here... been here since release. Eof didn't destroy us as tanks. We still do fine.

Now pre eof playing both our high end raid equipped guard and my raid equipped bruiser. I use to own nizara over the guard. After the gaurd is better for me to take peopel through the zone.

In castle mistmoore i can tank anywhere in that castle minus the epics x2's w 2 healers. With my guard i can go anywhere w him w any one healer (tried templar, warden, defiler, mystic). The epic x2's in zone i can one group w the guard and 2 healers (vikomt requires a enchanter too), I did not one group them w my bruiser thats for sure.

In EoF our dps "potential" just shot up alot. Our tankign went down. Nothing drastic though. A full set of fabled set gear i think would increase our dps tremendously. I can solo farm the butler in catacombs, I can run around mm castle and i can run to check to see if the rumbler is up in EH before my guild zones in. We do fine and we are still fun. I think though as always a bruiser requires alot more gear. Especially now becasue of diminishing returns. We require heavy stat and skill gear to be back to what we were pre eof.

Message Edited by Gungo on 02-02-2007 04:46 PM

as you say gungo,

non raiding bruisers will have a hard time. as a tank or as a damage dealer you need to have the gear. all spells on master is still not enough.

shifter - valor

But I am not stepping up much to answer some of these "how come my purse doesn't match my shoes" questions I keep seeing. God I feel old now. Off to play my Dirge JK

I haven't been able to play in a few months because of my lack of money... but I started playing when the game came out, and my Bruiser my was second character behind my Ranger. He is fun to play, and can do a lot of things my Ranger can't... but at the same time, there are things my Ranger can do that he can't.

It makes for a great alternative when I can play... and no, I never played any class for the fact that they are the current fotm. I play all classes because they have something that appeals to what I want to do... whether it be stand back and nuke, fling arrows... beat the snot out of crap or once in a blue moon, heal.

And wait... EoF has been out for what... 3 months? (lost track since I can't play... but at least the forums are now free!) And they still haven't fulfilled their promise that avoidance tanking would be just as viable as mitigation tanking?

Tsk tsk tsk SOE... stop lying to your players!
