<DIV>70 bruiser</DIV> <DIV>my crush and slash skills r maxed</DIV> <DIV>but til recently my pierce skill was just double digits</DIV> <DIV>so i decided to level it up</DIV> <DIV>visited the broker and searched for t7 piercing weapons for bruisers</DIV> <DIV>found a few, but not many and none with great stats</DIV> <DIV>but bought a pair of dual wield pierce weapons anyway and proceeded to punch holes in kobolds for an hour</DIV> <DIV>and my pierce skill didnt increase at all <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so i examined my new pierce weapons and compared them to my slash weapons</DIV> <DIV>and there was an interesting difference</DIV> <DIV>my velium claws r described as slash weapons that do slashing damage</DIV> <DIV>but my new pierce weapons r described as CRUSH weapons that do piercing damage</DIV> <DIV>despite the fact that i found them on the broker by searching for PIERCE weapons <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so, back to the broker</DIV> <DIV>had a second look at all the t7 pierce weapons for bruisers</DIV> <DIV>all had the same description...crush weapon that does piercing damage</DIV> <DIV>then i searched t6 pierce weapons for bruisers</DIV> <DIV>found a cheesy two handed spear that is described as pierce weapon that does pierce damage</DIV> <DIV>so i bought it for 9 gold <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>needless to say, a few hours later my pierce skill dinged 350/350</DIV> <DIV>so, one mystery solved</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>now, who can explain to me why when i examine my skills, my crush says 350/350, but my slash and pierce both say something like 338/338 (not sure of the exact number, am not in game atm) and the numbers r shown in red</DIV> <DIV>just a bug?</DIV> <DIV>just to double check, i opened my chat archive file and confirmed that my pierce did indeed ding 350/350</DIV> <DIV>so something is still a bit odd</DIV> <DIV>go figure...[Removed for Content]</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Shock</DIV> <DIV>Bazaar</DIV>

<P>Maybe you were in defensive stance and yet had enough +crushing items to offset the reduction to crushing by said stance.</P> <P> </P> <P>For levelling piercing skill I grabbed one of the 55 x2 mobs in majdul, stripped off any proccing items and autoattacked it for an hour or two feigning to let him heal when necessary.  Boring, but it worked.</P>
