Supposedly the Lonetusk Gi still exists but they changed the way the ring event works. All the orcs that need to be up to start the ring are almost never all up at the same time. I camped the ring for two days straight and was not once able to get it rolling.

Your best bet for Gi Progression is to wear the quested Gi from the caves in your teens, the AQ quested Gi in your 20s, the Blood Drenched Gi in your 30s and your 40s if you can't get a T5 Fabled, choice of three T6 Gis, and choice of 2 T7 Gis. You can wear Gi the entire time leveling 1 to 70 if you want to take the time to get them all.

If you betray, you become a monk. Is there a parallel quest of the cave for bruisers that gives a Gi?

The Gi in the caves is not a Monk only item, it can be worn by Bruisers as well. I was able to sneek into the caves and do the quest with my Bruiser just fine. This was on the PvP server no less so it was not really the guard (only one guard down there) I had any trouble with but the other players. You sneak in by taking the underwater grate from Antoncia to Peat Bog. From Peat Bog the Vermins Snye and then onto the caves. It is actually one of the easiest Gis to get in the game. I suggest you try it out instead of just assuming it cannot be done. <- My Bruiser in East Freeport wearing the Gi.

I did the gi in the Caves with my bruiser as well. I found it easier to use the bell on the docks, though -- just jump in the water before you get near the agro guard at the base of the docks, swim around to the bell, & click it from the water.

The Caves quest series actually gives some pretty nice lowbie gear for a few slots (chest, legs, feet... maybe cap? I'm at work & can't recall for sure) & there is nice leather that drops in chests there as well. I highly recommend heading that way around level 10 (I went at 8 & it was a little early; had to level a bit to be able to finish all of the quests).

The Gi from the Caves.... What is the quest called? Is it a low quest?

It's the last quest of a quest series, but they're doable around levels 10-15 & don't take too long at all (even at those levels). I forget which of the quest givers starts the series which culminates in the gi.

There are um... 4 quest givers there, 2 who give independent series, 1 who gives just a couple of unrelated quests, & 1 who gives 1 or 2 quests that branch off from 1 of the series (this is all from memory). I think it's the erudite who gives the series that ends in the gi, but it could be the captain next to him? her? it? The captain's quests are worth doing too, if you're of a level to use the gear (that's the other series). The gnome that you go to for one of the quests will open up the branch quest after you've done the quest that takes you to her. The NPC looking at a dead animal is the unrelated 1 or 2 quests. I think the captain gives the legs & the gnome gives the shoes.

Well, I am lvl 70 so I don't think I can actually use the Gi, but I have made it my goal to own every gi in game

If anyone has the actual quest starter name or the quest name, that would be great!

The problem is the NPC will not give the quest to a lvl70 charactor and it is no trade item. You might try mentoring a lowbie but I am not sure that will work. The quest is called High Shaman of the Rockpaw (12) and it is given by the NPC Consul Bree after completing three other quests starting with A Lack of Information quest (9).

Thanks for the information! I may not be able to do the quest, but it never hurts to mentor and try We all have our own lil quirky goals in game
