View Full Version : Why being a Bruiser is awesome!

<div></div>So there have been a ton of posts about how we suck. Frankly, I think bruisers are awesome. I betrayed from a monk about 3 months ago and I would never want to change back. So, with that in mind, lets say some great things about being a bruiser, post-EoF even. I'll start: Knowing how to play a bruiser, I can solo heroic nameds up to lvl 72. It's not that difficult as long as you know what you are doing and have put in the time for AA's, ad3's/masters, etc... I quest extremely well. How great was it to fly through some of those SoS claymore quests with the use of FD? I finished one in about 30 minutes where as it took all others hours upon hours. In a raid, I am often in the top DPS. Knockout Combo is one of the coolest CA's in the game. There's just a few. We need to build up some bruiser pride guys. It's becoming tiresome to hear the same complaints over and over again. <DIV>Amen</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since EoF everyone has been a bit sour but I havent lost a single solo pvp fight to anything but another brawler, and now that I have made a few changes to accomodate this I havent lost one yet.  Even managed to grab myself dreadnaught although it seems to have more negative effects on my pvp fights... like anyone with a title wont stay to fight me when they are losing...  Haven't been raiding a whole lot since for some reason I think the guildy's have lost some motivation in that aspect but my pve and pvp abilities are as good as ever, even got up to the kettlebringer again in nest by myself, havent done that in weeks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tiifa</DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#cccccc>Amen</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cccccc></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cccccc>I was at work when the "sky is falling" threads replicated all over the brawler forums at EoF launch. I was so ready to fly off at the handle. But I get home and do my thing, and yes things are harder, but still extremely doable. I was real sorry I posted before I tested it myself.</FONT> </DIV>

<div align="left">I betrayed from monk to bruiser about 3 months ago too. I was a 70th monk and now that I have gone bruiser, and have mostly masters and adp III's I do really well. I MT on all of the instances in EoF (unless there is a plater that wants to) Sonic fists/Drag is a great pulling tool, FD, DPS Hell we do alot well! On raids im in the top 5 EVERY time on DPS right up there with the rangers and finger wigglers (if your up on your masters/adept III's and not there they you need a raid leader that knows what group to put you in) anyway Burisers are great Im one of hte happy ones!</div><div></div>

<DIV>First post on this board, but have to agree with the OP.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally i dont care about the PvE side of the game with my little gnome, if i want raid utility or solo farming uberness i just play my coercer. However when it comes to PvP there isn't another class i'd rather play. While i'm still a couple of levels off 70 and wearing pretty basic gear (all adp 3's/masters tho) it's amazing how quickly those yellow cons die, or flee on sight :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont yet have drag, but once i do i feel its going to be the icing on the cake :smileywink:</DIV>

I might be inclined to opt for discussion if the OP really could solo level 72 heroic nameds. There is no mention of arrows. Do you mean 3up? There are encounters that are labelled heroic with one up arrow. King of Balefires among others in Bonemire for example. But I can solo those easily with any class. Level 72 with 3 arrows up... hmmm.. not so much.Is your intent to elevate the status of bruisers to simply make yourself feel better? Was it depressing to hear that you are one of the least desirable raid classes available? Really sorry you need to hear trumpets. The bruiser class has a number of shortcomings that if addressed would bring them in parity with other classes enough to justify their position in raids.Or maybe you enjoy being essentially the best darned harvesting class out there? We could continue with mock spiritual cleansing, or we could try and get the class fixed. We dont need cheerleaders here.
