Anyone know of a good 2H staff I can use with the wis line to increase my area aggro? I haven't started raiding labs yet, but I'll probably start soon. So, I'd like to get both pre-raid and starter-raid options. Thanks!Thoral, 68 Bruiser, Mistmoore

By far your best bet is the Grizzle Staff you get from the NPC of the same name in Bonemire on the Drednever's isle, he is not too far from the cloud, near the merchants and mailbox.

I would recommend this as a starter staff (which is actually better than it looks), there are other staves like the Staff of the Flapping Wing that have crazy dmg (106 dmg rating) and Ancient Velium Staff that are pretty good as well. If you have a level60 crafter then Wyrmslayer Heritage might be good for you. It really depends on what you want to do, dps you're far better going for dw as they are easier to come by than a tricked out 2 hand, and then theres some weapons that don't fit any of the lines that are great for tanking (Hammer of the Dragonborn I use, has +5 defense, +5 Parry, +Crushing and with my +4 defense adornment it makes it pretty useful for non shield using tanks).

I'm sure others will have various opinions and more help with names in particular, also check out the T7 gear list Phayax started and someone continued, again, names are my weakness

There is a 2h hammer with a nice DR that procs AOE hate that is pretty nice. I keep a bunch of weapons ready on my hotbar, so if I need to use crane sweep really quick i can switch out.Oh forgot to add: That weapon drops from Halls of the Seeing.

Message Edited by masoninc61 on 12-07-2006 01:20 PM

staff of flapping wind pretty easy to get and nice dps + proc for a staff.

if u dont mind not having a staff tho get vraksakin club if possible that drops in ToS from Vraksakin, its still uber dps. Doesnt count as a staff though for the AA line if thats what u need it for.

HoS off Overlord: Mallet of the Overlord. If you can do Labs then you can do HoS.

But, I gotta say, HoS is a bit tougher than Labs. Not that difficult, but not every labs-capable guild is going to be able to take out HoS. With that said, however, Overlord and the mobs up to him are definately not that rough.

Dont bother going for the hammer if you have never even raided there b4, get the flapping staff instead its only from x2 instance and far more common drop.

If you are going to go for a fabled drop then just check for vraksakin every day in ToS. The club he drops is still the best 2 hander in game bar none (unless any post eof ones have dropped that i havent heard of yet). Although Vraksakin is contested hardly anyone bothers with it now after EoF (at least on my server anyways). The fight is also a lot easier than the overlord in HoS IMO.

So I asked in the 60-69 channel how many 68+ peeps it would take to get to the Overlord in HoS in mastercrafted with a peppering of fabled, and all I got was a bunch of laughter. I think that may be out of my reach for a while. So, just to make sure my original question was answered, the staff of flapping wing and the Vraksakin one both have AE or at least encounter procs? Is the Vraksakin one easier or harder to get than the flapping? Thanks,Thoral, 69 Bruiser, Mistmoore

Not to mention that the proc on it triggers off hostile spell cast, which bruisers of course don't have. So it basically has no proc either.

Message Edited by rckmer on 12-14-2006 12:41 PM

Vraksakin does proc for a monk btw so i guess also for a bruiser, very very rare mind you and im not sure if it procs off of other procs or off of taunts, but it shows up on my parses every raid just onluy about 4 or 5 times a night hehe.

And the flapping staff is by far easier to get than Vraksakin, as far as epic x 4 contested raid mobs go vraksakin is very easy. However if your guild dont raid then i wouldnt bother wasting your time trying to kill it without a few weeks practice raiding in Lyceum and Labs at least. The flapping staff drops in the epic x 2 AoA instance from the trash, the trash also repops as long as u dont kill the namer on each floor as i remember so its not like u run out of mobs to kill for it to eventually drop.
