<DIV>There is a bunch of great thoughts out there about what weapons to use. This thread cooks down to DR and DELAY only. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is the deal..  you have 8 weapons. All of em have 60 DR to make it easy.  The delays are different tho.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You have 2x 1.6s delay</DIV> <DIV>you have 2x 2.0s delay</DIV> <DIV>and last 2x 2.5s delay weapons... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How would you equip them and why. These weapons all have prcos, they all have adornments and they are great. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have people arguing to have the 1.6s in mainhand and 2.5 in offhand. This because faster swings and proc chance on mainhand results in more often procs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some would say, no turn that around, 2.5s in main hand and 1.6s in offhand. This because slower weilding in mainhand ups the chances of a proc and the slow delay in offhand resets the delay on your offhand, (Is this exploiting some bug? Not logical to me)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Third you have the people saying, definately go with weapons with the same delay in both hands, because you can then time your combat arts inbetween and create a steady flow of dps. (This shouldnt matter since CAs dosnt halt auto attack or reset timers any more)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyways, there are tons of opinions out there... I want you all to join in and based on proof, experience and strategies give your pointers on how to do this. Im not interested in people with thoughts and opinions, those are not what i seek, give hardcore facts and reasonings... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Looking forward to an enlightening experience... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Ok are we factoring in any kind of outside mods? One of the biggest things I look for in choosing weapons is what kind of buffs I have on me at that time.</P> <P>Example your 1.6 delay weapon of 60DR lets say deals 25-60 dmg right, but your 2.5 delay of 60DR deals 50-100 dmg. Now haste only takes so much delay away from an already fast weapon. Lets say for example you have 50 points of haste. Your 1.6 because a 1.3 but your 2.5 because a 1.8. Now effectively if you use<FONT color=#666600> /weaponstats</FONT> in game you will see your 1.6 delay now a say 65DR but your 2.5 could punch up 72DR now. (Note that all these numbers are EXAMPLES and made up because I am at work and not in game)</P> <P>Anyways what I am getting at is that haste is a huge part in my decision for weapons in situations like you are talking about. Normally slower delay weapons that have same DR as a faster one deal more dmg. So dps mods and haste mods have a bigger impact on these weapons than the already faster weapons. Just something to note.</P>

<DIV>I once heard someone say that the chance to proc is no longer affected by the delay of the weapon that the proc is originating from due to the new procing system with EoF.  I have no clue if this is true or not but it is definitely something to be considered and tested.  As for me I coincidentally use a 1.6s in main hand and a 2.5 in off-hand.  However, my main hand weapon procs an attack spell, and my off-hand weapon procs a defensive spell very similar to the one on the lowbie HQ axe reward.  This would probably affect my decision as well.  Also, many adornments are restricted to what kind of weapon they can be equipped on slashing/piercing/crushing/one-hand/two-hand and any others I didnt list.  My second weapon is a crushing weapon and I saw a +3 parry adornment that I would like to put on it... isn't much point in having that proc more often considering it doesnt proc at all.  Even by restricting your details so precisely you still have a whole slew of possibilities that interrferr.  What if the weapons were absolutely identical and you have no outside effects?  You will still run into people claiming both sides of the field.  A good question with a good answer for both sides of the field I'm sure.  I'm afraid you will probably walk away with even more questions on this topic.</DIV>

<P>Good answers there. </P> <P>Personally i used to go with 1.6main and 2.5 offhand. Now recently i changed it to 2.5main and 1.8 offhand. This because i have usually groups that hastes me by up to 100. Wich makes the DR point work out for me like the 2nd poster stated.</P> <P> </P> <P>I would love to get more feedbacks on this tho as i see this as the biggest challenge to maximize my dps during raids in particular.</P>

I use The Twin Calamities in my main, the 60 DR one (after nerf) and the Bonetooth Skewer in my off-hand a 58ish DR one, both are piercing and I went for the +5 parry on both of them, procs are nice and all but Ill keep being an idiot and trying anything to get my avoidance as high as possible. In all seriousness the one thing that helps most in dps is simply how you do your CA's, I have two macros set up that i just click that have my CA's set up to go off in a certain order. Bouncing between these two can be a click fest sure but even during laggy times the commands fill up the Q. Anyhoo that always did wonders for me.

<P>Ok a slight change of topic there, but an interesting one. What CAs do you use in your macro? The obvious one being AA skill to turn mob and the "backstabb" together in one macro. (even tho the aa skill can be used twice as often as the "Backstabb").</P> <P> </P> <P>I can also see the knockdowns being combined with the stomp to cause double dammage, however the cast timers on these are very different.</P> <P> </P> <P>So tell us, what arts are you macroing together and how is the outcome... </P> <P> </P> <P>Personally i fire off the two quick refresh ones together, followed by the dot, then the eye punch for reduction in mobs skills, followed by the sun line, and so forth, by the time these are done, the quick ones are back up again. If we are talking heroic mobs they are already dead by now, if not its wiring up the procs and refresh.</P> <P> </P>
