<DIV>I have a general question for anyone who can answer as to the pvp viability of Shifty dodge, which procs from the shiftiniess buff. It says 50% chance to decrease threat by a certain amount, but when I finally got this ability and checked the pvp box, it does NOT say that it causes your opponent to drop his target. In general, this is what all de-aggros in the game do in pvp, including de-aggro procs that scouts get.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, was it just left out in the description that it doesnt cause target to be dropped in pvp, or does it really not work in pvp? This was one of the main reasons I got this ability, would be good to know. </DIV>

<P>Meh, after testing it doesnt seem to drop target in PVP, but when you are directly pounding someone in the face and it has a chance to drop target on any mellee attack it would seems that it might not work anyways.</P> <P> </P> <P>My personal and current problem with this ability is that it just doesnt sem to do anything at all, at Rank 4 it says it has a 50% chance to reduce threat by 400 (ish). Now thats a lot of threat drop for every other whallop but I still get agro all the time.</P>

Grats to soe for false description of a aa ability...when you see aggro reduction, you assume it causes ppl to lose target in pvp, thats what de-aggros do. </P> <P>I was debating maybe still going down this line for the final de-aggro ability, which is like a scout evade. Dunno if its worth it, im still on the fence on this one. </P> <P>And yes, even in pve it doesnt seem to do much, Im thinking it might be completely useless. </P> <P>Atm im totally clueless for which bruiser aa line to go with, Im trying to do whichever one will help most in pvp. </P> <P> </P> <P><BR> </P>

<DIV>It appears to be working for me (in PvE).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've run into two situations that would only happen if I had this deaggro:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. I have had situations where a mage has gotten aggro after the tank dies, and I am completely incapable of getting back aggro. I spam both taunts (no resists), lay down Knockout Combination, and tear through all my Combat Arts as the Mage tries to back off.. I simply could NOT get aggro. Which is very weird for a single target mob... I'm normally VERY good, especially if I start tossing in my Taunts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. I have pulled something, smacked it once and watched it leave me to go to someone else. Literally, I'm the ONLY person that touched the mob, and it ran off to attack someone else. This has happened many times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A couple things to note. Do not use this ability if you are being given Amends from a Paladin and he is supposed to be the MT. He will start stealing your DEAGGRO too, which means he will be losing aggro compared to the group. Same with Evade if you have it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can still rarely pull aggro even while having this ability up at max ranks (50% of 490 dethreat). It tends to require me burning right at the start of the fight, using Knockout Combo as well. This is a problem with SPIKE damage though... we get around 1500-2000 DPS in less than 20 seconds... over the course of the fight, by the end since our CAs need to recharge, it gets lower... but if you can land all your big hits with knockout combo and all your procs going off, well that short 20s of combat will be a really high DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is where Evade will come in handy, as it's a single large burst of deaggro to offset the large burst of DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It seems to be working.. at least for me anyways.</DIV>

Though, your one example of OT'ing gave me the idea I should make a toggle macro so I can flip quickly between the two.Shiftiness is working for me too, very well. Raided the other night, assassin put his hate transfer on me, and with shiftiness up I still wasn't taking aggro. It was essentially detaunting for the both of us. In fact it's working so well I've changed my mind about getting evade, which I thought I'd need too.</div>

In pvp encounters, there is no threat level, any de-aggro skill, whether an evade-type or proc, causes your opponent to lose their target(you). Apparently, all except this one. </P> <P>But I have since re-specced my bruiser aa points away from it and toward the knockouts line, & am so far very happy with it, my stomp & iron fist are doing some big dmg. :smileyhappy:</P> <P><BR> </P>
