<DIV>hmn...1k bruiser raid dps.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've often seen this and questioned on it. Recently it seems like were expected to hit around that number, and after <BR>testing and asking around I can't seem to pin that dps down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is that pretty constant for you guys? I can't ever seem to hit over the 800's on most raids. <BR>Average (650-800), high (850-900).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Let me give you a bit on my typical raid spot: Lvl 70, Over 500-600 str, Maybe 120 some odd int (53 base), Maybe 50% haste, <BR>21% dps mod (mine), and I'm wielding a Twin (the 57 dr one), and the claymore line legendary (53 dr one). Misc, + procs from<BR>(assassins poi proc, conjurer seed, etc.)</DIV> <DIV>AA's are 4,4,8 in Sta, Wis, Int.</DIV> <DIV>All CA's are A3 to Master 1's. (and yes I have to turn off rumble to avoid pulling aggro.) I use all dmg cA's except <BR>Bonecrusher during fights.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is it the raid group makeup that I'm lacking, or is it the weapons? I know the SoFW has been pretty popular of late. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm just at a loss at this point, and any advice is appreciated.<BR></DIV>
<DIV>Alot of time your dps will also be dependent on the rest of the raids dps. A long fight = less dps over time. Shorter fights you will get a higher dps hit. My dps is Generally 1k - 1.4k when im actually paying attention and what not ( gets boring sometimes ) but the loest i hit is about 800 - 900 on the longer fights. For me i time my Combat arts instead of just burning them all out at once not sure how many people do that.</DIV>
<DIV>It's the buffs. If you capped dps and haste you'd be doing more than twice the autoattack damage you're doing now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Other than that, getting another fabled weapon would certainly help, but not all that much. As for SoFW, you'll be better off with 2 nice dual wielders.</DIV>
<P><FONT face=Verdana color=#66ff00 size=2>Sounds like group makeup. </FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Verdana color=#66ff00 size=2></FONT> </P> <P><FONT face=Verdana><FONT size=2><FONT color=#66ff00>I usually get grouped with an Illusionist or coercer, add an assassin for the proc buff blammo 1k dps. I was constantly parsing in the neighborhood of 800 to 1100, with str/int line pre lu24. Now I have a twin cal and a 61.5 off hand with a 200 dd proc. I am now averaging around <SPAN class=787441819-22062006>700</SPAN> to 950 most fights. Kinda of a shame that I gain two badass weapons and my dps is lower than when I was bare fisted with str line. Not sure I can attribute all of that to simply changing AA's, LU24 had to have some part in it I ASSume? maybe not, but the debuff on my twin cal is worth it (raidwise) lowering Piercing resistance by 1200 with my CA and twin cal<SPAN class=787441819-22062006>, surely must help those scouts? I hope so)</SPAN></FONT></FONT></FONT></P> <P><SPAN class=787441819-22062006><FONT face=Verdana color=#66ff00 size=2>I would have to emphasize our reliance on Haste and Pow regen to hold consistant high dps. DPS buff on top of those are a plus. </FONT></SPAN></P> <P> </P>

<P>You don't always have access to the weapons you want, but I do believe you'd see higher numbers using the SotFW than your current setup (so long as you could cap your STR). That probably changes when/if you can get 2 DW at 60+ DR.</P> <P>Aside from weapons, it's really all circumstancial. Your group and the specific buffs you have on play a huge role. There's a lot of good combinations out there - don't think you need the perfect group each time. But you're not gonna parse real high if you're always in a group with a bunch of necros and rangers, for instance.</P> <P>Also, the type and level of the mob play a huge role. The type of damage your using vs. the type of mitigation the mob has, brawler mobs vs. warrior mobs, etc. etc.</P> <P>Also, know that coming in among the top 3 or 4 means you're typically at high risk of stealing aggro. If you raid in Off stance, then you need to have your FD ready ... and you can't just drop and get back up :p FD doesn't lower your overall aggro - it just temporarily "suspends" it. On the other hand, it's useful if the MT goes down or is thrown OOR, because you'll often be next on the list and can take a few more hits than your assassin buddies can.</P> <P> </P>

<P>your dps is related to the buffs you recieve and the debuffs that the monster recieves. Haste also is a big plus since it seems I am basically at 60ish dps by myself...str line (20% dps, rousing cry 24%, and when rings proc) so hitting faster is a big plus when not CAing.</P> <P>Also the furhter you get in your AA lines help. The more you have the better the spells you get for them.</P> <P>Not to mention what spells you have for yourself. Masters deal about 25% damage then adepts and have a great chance of not being avoided. </P> <P>Basically you want to find that point where you can do max damage yet still hav the tank hold aggro easily. So that is up to you to determine what spells to cast..when to cast em. </P> <P>If your role is to dps then tear it up as best as you can..i know that the times when i am MA i do considerably less damage becasue i am focusing on the group and makign sure my targets are what the MT is targeting and paying more attention to the mob than my spell bar. </P> <P>In my opinion parseing can help you be a better player..but it can also be a raid killer if ppl areconsitently trying to be top dog and pulling aggro when they shouldnt be...so try not to put all your faith into the big damage dps numbers. Its cool when you do a 1k but if ppl die because you were foolish then that amount of dps is unwanted and you will probably be known as the one who stupidly pulls aggro. </P> <P>Some raids have a strickly melee dps group and if your fortuante enough to be in them then you will do wildy high numbers without trying....but if you are asked to do something different dont feel bad becasue you werent top 5. </P>

<DIV>Some group tips for high dps:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Get a chanter.... Illusinoist gives awesome haste, and a coercer gives awesome DPS. Usually you won't have both, so balance out your group depending on which enchanter you get. if you have an illusionist and a monk in group you shoudl easily be capped on Haste. Throw in a dirge, an assasin, or an inquisitor and you can really have a great setup. </DIV>

<P>Thanks for the info guys,</P> <P>I raided last night with a slightly different group set up (per request), I ended up with a Berz / Coercer / Dirge. I went from 700's dps to upper 900's consistantly. </P> <P>Group makeup, and Debuffs are really king. I wasnt' aware of how pivitol the group make up was but, it's a large difference. Add in a few procs, higher dps mod, higher haste and whalla.</P> <P>In actuallity I only ended up with a 50 odd haste again but had 70's for dps mod. It made a very large difference. </P> <P>Thanks again,</P> <P> </P>
