Slashing - Yes or No

Recently made myself some nice rare Fir Batons and realized, after attuning, that my slashing skills are in the gutter.  I'm having a hell of a time raising them...is it even possible?<div></div>

Yes, it can be raised.  Easy quest in bonemire to get some slashy weapons called "Ravasect Shredders"  If I remember correctly they are slashing.  Get some haste and a group and knock yourself out.  took me lik 45 min to an hour to max the skill.  Its good to keep all your attack types maxed.  Until Sony makes the skill check crushing again.....

<div></div>I don't think there are any brawler useable slashing weapons at your level. If there are, there are very few because for the longest time we could use crushing only, and even weapons that did slashing and piercing damage used the crushing skill-check. That might have changed with the crafting revamp actually.. I'll get back to you on that.Edit: At level 30 you can get a crafted feyiron or feysteel Katar that uses the slashing skill. Well guys, given that he's both level 20 or so from his signature and already has the weapons, neither the Bonemire quest suggestion or getting a Katar will be that useful for him.Just take both batons, get into a good grinding group and let fly. I was in a long Nek Castle run with some guildies and raised it from around 50 or so to max skill in about an hour and a half, but you can do it nearly anywhere. It will take a fairly substantial amount of time, though.<div></div>

<P>be glad that you're still low level...</P> <P>trying to work on these skills at 70 (and getting the skillups from 100-350) takes forever.</P> <P> </P> <P>best recommendation i can make is to grab the weapons and head out for some solo green mobs, and start mowing em down.  you'll have much better luck on greens than on greys, and don't plan on being effective with them against white/yellow/orange mobs till you max your skill.</P>

Okay, just as an update for you all...  After doing a broker search I found that these were the only batons that used the slashing skill, I submitted a petition and got a reply shortly thereafter.  This apparently is a known bug/problem and the Dev team is already in work on a fix.  Now I don't know if he was blowing smoke, or if it's factual, but I'm hopeful.  My Bruiser is lvl25 now so I just set my sights on 32 and a new set of batons....ones that aren't broken <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

still not usable by Bruisers =/Luckily my story is much like Amataelia's... i harvested the rares and made the weapons myself. only to be let down when i couldnt hit a city rat with one.<div></div>

I finally did find a slashing weapon to level up on, Grubdigger's Paw, it drops off a named in Oakmyst Forest but I found it on the broker.  I leveled my slashing up to max (113) and guess what..........I still got that message saying "you do not have the skill to use this weapon".   So even with slashing maxed these things are useless.GRRR  <span>:smileysad:<span>Wheezie / Kyela / JennDipsomaniacsNaggy</span></span><div></div>

Wierd.  I've had one slash and one crush weapon since about lvl 30 (new legendary imbueds at 30 and 40) and I just had a look after reading this yesterday.  My slashing is in the gutter!  And I pretty much only ever fight blue con or higher!  What on earth is going on?!  Full hour solid slapping in PF last night and it didn't budge! <div></div>
