<DIV>My wife and I recently came back to EQ2 and are really happy with the changes.  This game is nothing like it was when it started.  We used to play a templar/gaurdian combo..but that drove us insane for how slow we killed.  The we tried a warlock/wizard combo and that worked so/so but hated how easy it was for us to die and have a pain staking task of retrieving our corpses.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My question is how viable is a bruiser/monk combo?  She currently loves her monk and I'm enjoying my bruiser.  We both like to DPS so the classic priest tank combo doesnt seem to be in our future.  We want to be able to kill herioc ^^^ mobs and named.  The fact that she can heal me and herself would probably make me the Main tank in this duo.  Being able to FD if stuff gets bad will cut back on the debt lose.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would this combo be best for what we want?  Or would a Monk/Necro or Bruiser/brigand be better?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Appreciate any insight people have.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV><p>Message Edited by Barrier on <span class=date_text>06-18-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:14 AM</span>

It's a great combo, I've duo'd with a monk friend on occasion with my bruiser on Splitpaw and we did great and had great fun! I'd recommend this duo for anyone who isn't set on the fighter/healer combo. What makes this combo effective is the stuns/stifles/dazes both classes provide + raw DPS. Also, each class gives the counterpart the buff they most need for DPSing. Bruiser gives the monk the DPS buff and the monk gives the bruiser the haste buff. The avoidance buff that both have can also benefit either, thou the one giving it would have to be in defensive stance to provide the most bang for the buff <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> In the duo I was the one who usually tanked, because 1. I was better geared and 2. She had a heal that she could pop on any group member, while our heal is self only. She also poped the avoidance buff on me and was in defensive stance, while I was in mixed stance. <div></div>

bruiser+ monk is a wonderful combo. I often duo with a friends monk when he gets bored of his defiler.  we've also seen lots of combo groups with bruiser, 2 monks, an sk, and a necro - fd for everyone and the necro for the occasional rez means that we can train anywhere, take anything in the game down, and have loads of fun.
