<DIV> <DIV>Looking to start a new alt, and had never tried the bruiser or the zerker. I have a 34 Sk and frankly getting kind of wore down with her since I have to work very hard each fight to hold aggro and that seems to be her sole role in the groups shes gotten. Often my end is totaly gone after everyfight. And i frankly do not see her doing amazing damage (yes the HT line is great but a 15 min refresh ugg)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So looking at the other fighters now. It seems to me zerkers and bruisers are very simmilar and just wondering what some of the pros cons of a zerker over a bruiser would be?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you had a friend that wanted to beat the crap out of things, but be able to help the group in ways other than straight dps, what would you tell them? Would you recommend a bruiser over a zerker?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Having played both.....Bruiser.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zerker would be boring for you since it is pretty similar to SK. Plate tank, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bruiser is fun and based on avoidance not mitigation. Kinda fun.</DIV> <DIV>It is NOT like the EQ1 Monk that couldn't do anything other than pull.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can tank just about anything I have found and my bruiser has solo'd HQs my warlock (who is 10 levels higher) couldn't.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I love him and he solos like a champ. Mend and FD are your best friends. (My FD fails 2/10 times...which is 80% and the skill level I have says 81%.....so don't let the whiners tell you it is broken or whatever.)</DIV>

<DIV>As previous poster stated brusier cos plate tank is plate tank , zerkers suck [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] though atm they are way overpowered with a nice 'Balance Change' Incoming ... though i hear that that new zerkers getting created are starting with all fabled gear that lasts till lvl 70 and a free magic carpet cos they are slow and need the help /sarcasm off btw</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bruiser ftw as you have an SK playing a zerker wont be much different to you , play it , try it , love it and then it becomes your new main toon</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>!!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I have a Zerker and a good friend who is a very effective Zerker but having played both I also prefer Bruiser. While not as effective (mitigationwise) as a Zerker in the MT role, Bruisers are very effective tanks especially in mid to high levels. Effective taunts as well as the Rumble line, which gives exponential hate gain over time, make keeping hate pretty easy (unless there's a nuke in the group, then no one else gets hate). Bruisers are very effective solo, I can take blue double ups and green triple ups with reasonable ease, and they are also very effective in the DPS role. Bruisers lack any real decent group buffs but benefit from most other classes' buffs significantly. Add a feign death, a rescue (self) heal, safe fall and some of the best combat animations in the game and I think the decision is pretty clear.

Only thing Zerkers have over us is holding grouped mobs agro, and we can do that pretty well if you (and the warlock you're grouped with) play your class. I've actualy come back from PvP as Bruisa!<font size="1">(TM)</font> is by far and away the most fun class, even more fun than PvPing! You can take on pretty much anything with one of these bad boys....even if you die. Be prepared for that. When you play a Bruisa!<font size="1">(TM)</font> suddenly innocent mobs seem to be eyeballin' you. You'll fnd yourseld with 60% hp and 10% mana running at ^^^ mobs :p <div></div>

<DIV>ok, here is where it lies in my eyes. If you dont plan on playing alot and dont plan on being a higher level, def go bruiser. but, if you plan on getting to 70 than i say def go zerker. reasoning: zerkers are extremely fun classes if you play them right, bruisers are also fun but arent as much chaos as a berzerker is. plus zerkers tank better, and that is where it lies.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Zerkers are overpowered thus why you probably find it to be so fun. Being able to Out dps just about every class but a conjuror as a plate tank is a bit more then slightly over powered in my eyes. Berserkers Can tank in offensive stance pretty well where bruisers not so much when it comes to raid mobs but as far as bieng better its really situational. Ive found mobs that a berserker gets owned to i dont get owned to. Single target i can keep superb aggro more then 2 mobs not so much where as a berserker can keep aggro one 50 mobs if he wanted and he would pull out some insane dps doing so.... Bruisers imo is the most fun class in the game. Ive played other classes but since beta ive stuck with my bruiser and will continue to.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing i will say when choosing between a zerker and bruiser is just keep in mind zerkers atm ARE overpowered and will most likly be nerfed down a bit. Bruisers really are where they should be. I mena they were thinkin about nerfing us but then realised there really wasnt a reason to. We are where we should be.</DIV>

Zerker - they can do dps well and tank in offensive stance at the same time.
