<DIV>Good afternoon,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I use to play a monk way back in the dawn of EQ when all we had was our fists.  Now, I see we get all sorts of weapon skills.  But reading here and there, I saw that that it may be worth considering going unarmed in the future.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Seeing how I am starting to get close to 20, I gave unarmed a shot.  I removed all my weapons and started beating up on a selection of greens and grey mobs.  While I seemed to hit considerably harder than my weapons did, I seemed to be attacking very slowly.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So my question is simple.  Did I just have a bad run of luck for those 20 minutes, is it that unarmed is quite slow compared to a fist wraps/fighting baton como, or is it as I suspect, at evel 15 I'm not dual weilding my unarmed attacks?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Meiko</DIV> <DIV>Crushbone</DIV><p>Message Edited by Snowborn on <span class=date_text>06-08-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:58 PM</span>

<P>It's not really.. dual wielding, exactly. What it is, is your unarmed attack is considered the same as using a storebought 2handed weapon (in quality and speed).</P> <P>So if you have any kind of decent weapons, you'll do better with them than the unarmed. The reason unarmed looks so big, is because it's considered 2handed, so big hits..</P> <P> </P> <P>What the Strength line does, is give you a chance to double attack that 2handed hit.. and at max skill (4, 4, 8 into the Str line), you double attack 96% of the time. This means you are doing almost double the damage of your unarmed attack.. kinda like wielding two storebought 2handers.</P> <P>This damage is pretty good, and contends with most legendary level weapons, but if you ever get fabled weapons they'll probably be better than even unarmed. The only reason high level brawlers use it is because at 70, unarmed jumps to a new level of power, and most weapons out there are inferior.</P> <P> </P> <P>I would suggest not depending on unarmed until you have at least 12 aa points to put into strength (4, 4, 4). At that point, unarmed starts to be worth using, and with 4 more points it's pretty strong. Until then, you'll be better off using weapons.</P>
