Hey everyone!I made an Iksar Bruiser to see what they're like. Very fun! But after trying a Monk briefly, I have to say I was a little disappointed with the lack of variety in Bruiser animations. It seems like all I did was the regular punch with one arm, then the other, throwing in a fairly generic looking kick... hohum. My Froglok Monk, conversely, was like a little yoda, messing it up on the ground, dropping jump kicks, and owning it up Frog-style!I like Bruisers a lot but their style leaves something to be desired. Do other races get more interesting Bruiser animations? Do Monks just have better looks for their attacks in general? Was it just me being a lizard-man, or my Monk being a froggie? <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

The only difference between Bruiser and Monk animations is the particle effects on some CA's.  That and Monks hold their weapons out differently than Bruisers.  Monks hold their arms straight out with their weapons pointing out where Bruisers have their hands up covering their face in more of a "Boxer" type of a stance.  Although you won't notice that too well on your Froglok monk.<BR><BR>Basically, all the animation differences you are seeing is because you are a Froglok as opposed to any other race.<BR><BR>Frogloks in specific have different animations than all other races.  Make a Dwarf, or whatever other race (aside from Froglok monk) and you'll notice your animations looking exactly the same as your Bruisers.

So wait... if I made a Froglok and betrayed him to a Bruiser... he'd have the exact same animations as he did when he was a monk?Holy moly, you just blew my mind. Thanks for informing me!<div></div>

The shoulder charge and the flying kick are some of the best animations in the game. <div></div>

Yeah. I like the looks of Frogloks a lot, but the CAs of Bruisers...I might just have to betray. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

One last, quick question. If I betray and taunt as a Bruiser... do I still do the Monk animation?<div></div>

I betrayed a frog monk to bru, he does change stances he fights just like any other bruiser. Although that is only barehanded, 2hand staff and DW remain the same.<div></div>

Got my Monk to 14 last night. I did notice that when he uses weapons with models, he fights pretty much like any other race. Only when his fists are empty or when he has fist-weapons equipped does he use the cool Froglok martial arts animations. If, by betraying, I forfeit those, I might have to rethink my intentions for the character, because honestly that flattening down dodge animation -- and that hilariously awesome taunt, Matrix-style!! -- are just too good to pass up. I hate being part of a crowd, especially on the good side (Qeynos 4TL)... but style is so, so important too.I guess I'll just think about it. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
