<DIV>So it's been well noted that sonic fist CA (obtainable at lvl 55) doesn't work very consistnatly. I just got it yesterday and I'd say it really only works for me 50% of the time. I've taken suggestions I found on the boards such as "try to be on even ground with the mob" and so on. However even with that in mind I have a lot of trouble executing this CA.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My concern is that I'll invest 8 points into Mantis Leap and it will be just as bad. I love this ability, it has the "wow!!" effect and the "holy [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] how did you do that?!" effect. (My typical response is "I'm a ninja").</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, can anybody confirm that Mantis Leap is more effective than Sonic Fists? or am I waisting my time? Also, when are the devs going to look at this CA? it's a very fun CA to have but it'd be nice if it actually worked. The discription does say anything about limitations so I'm assuming it's bugged and not working as designed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The following links are posts to people asking about the broke-like nature of Sonic Fists</DIV> <DIV>(<A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=10146&query.id=78301#M10146" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=10146&query.id=78301#M10146</A>)</DIV> <DIV>(<A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=10008&query.id=78386#M10008" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=10008&query.id=78386#M10008</A>)</DIV> <DIV>(<A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=11265&query.id=78394#M11265" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=11265&query.id=78394#M11265</A>)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
Mantis Leap is the 1st end of the line I went for and I was a little disapointed.I expected being able to jump on rocks where mobs are, not so.It seems to work only when you are level with the mob.The good side is that there is no promixity check, so you can cast it when fighting with a mob and ensure yourself a critical hit (works good when pulling)Thats about all I use it for now, 95% of the time.Of course now that the secret is out that Bruisers get a free critical hit in exchange for some power, I'm effraid the Nerf Drones have been alerted.Enjoy while you can if you have it already.<div></div>

<DIV>I thought mantis leap gave you a 10 second duration of crit hits? Someone else posted that it did that. Also in-game it lists 10 sec duration. But if i read your post right it sounds like you only get a single crit, is that true?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

You only get one crit. You have 10 seconds to actually attack and get that crit. Upon critting (or attacking in general, not sure which) the effect is removed. <div></div>

<DIV>Well forget that then. I love the whole effect of the skill but i'm not spending that many AP's just to get a single attack that might or might not work very well. Oh well guess now I can focus on AP's that I might find more worthwhile.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I don't have Mantis Leap yet, but I use Sonic Fists a hell of a lot in PvP and as I use it more I've found it easier to position myself where it will work. You don't have to be on the same level as the target. I've done some kicka$s things with Sonic Fists in PvP such as teleporting up onto the cliff near the docks then Uppercutting the [Removed for Content] wizard off the cliff to his death. Bet he wasn't expecting that one. I also have used Sonic Fist -> Uppercut to knock people off climbable walls in PoF and SS several times.<div></div>

interesting...Seems like to me though more often then not if im not on the same level as my target Sonic Fists goes down and i loose the power but nothing happens. Only on rare occations do i actualy teleport any where and most times if I do teleport to a mob or Q who is higher or lower then me then when i teleport back i end up in the earth.. Any tips on correct possitioning?Btw Sonic Fists (i have master 1) + Int Crit Chance skill = mantis leap imo Get Eagle Shriek if you tank or PvP much better use of points imo<div></div>

<DIV>Slightly off topic but I'd like to mention I just (at lvl 63) reset my AP's and went for full crit rate. I have just enough to max it. It sure seemed to be a nice boost in my DPS and now I wont be spending 8 pts on an AP that's buggy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I too occasionally end up beneath the earth when I teleport back. This has happened to me several times in PoF.You just have to make sure there are no obstacles between you and the target. It will fail if there's even the slightest bump in the way. You don't have to be on the same level as the target as long as there is clear air between you and it.<div></div>

Going to Naggy I had to pass thru the room for access the other day. After killing the greys and getting the named to talk I was ported into a cage ! Never having done this before I stood there for a few minutes grumbling, hit Sonic Fist and drug him to me. After beating the heck out of him I got ported out only to see a master on the cage !The GM who came to help me get the master looked at me, looked at it, and said "How did you do THAT?"I love this ability <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span><div></div>
