Using the mouse for targeting is only as a last resort imo. Bind one of the keys that is close to your WASD hand as "Target Closest" command and hit it whenever you lose your target. At level 18 a bruiser gets: 2 stuns and an interrupt, which is bound into our group taunt. If you see an opponent casting from affar, cast your group taunt on them for the interrupt and close in. Stun, dmg, dmg, dmg, stun. Something like that. At that level I mostly used my defensive stance and I didn't think of it as wrong. What you can also do is make stance switching macros for quicker switching of stances (say your low on health and need to run away and you're in your offensive stance -> one macro click later and you're in def stance) There are 2 macros, should go like this: 1st macro: Name it Def -> Off and pick and icon that is aggresive. Put the next lines in it: -1st line /useab <defensive stance name> -2nd line /useab <offensive stance name> So at your level that would be /useab Bouncer's Stance and /useab Heated Fists 2nd macro: Name it Off -> Def and pick a defensive icon for it (I used the shield icon) and is basically a reveresed Def -> Off macro (I tried puting both macros into 1, but had difficulties at because I had to click it twice to bring me out of offensive stance) Your primary focus in PvP should imo be STA, followed by STR, then WIS, then AGI. (agility is easy to cap) There are some really nice weapons that drop in Graveyard that you could use well into your mid 20s, or the weapons from the Lonetusk Devastator in Ruins (he's in the house on the SW most part of the map, also drops a Gi. It's a ring event, you have to clear all the orc on the right side of the house outside, and all the orcs inside the house. If there aren't 3 orcs up outside or 5 orcs up inside it means that the event is bugged and you'll have to come back another day) that you could probably use till your 30s. Hope the above post helped. <div></div>
<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> </BLOCKQUOTE> <P><FONT size=3>TheSummoned knows a thing or two about Bruisers so I'm loath to contradict him; however I have slightly different ideas on PvP myself, some of which conflict with his advice.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>I <EM>prefer</EM> to use the mouse for targeting, as being taunted off your target is about the most irritating aspect of PvP and not something you'll really be used to from the 'blue ' servers. If you use a 'target closest' (my key for this is 'E') then you'll find your target will be the closest enemy - in group PvP this usually will mean the opposing tank as he will probably be nearest and the caster you'd almost flattened will get away. Scrolling back to maximum view range, keeping your target's name in mind and being able to quickly pick them out from a chaotic mass of players is definitely difficult and confusing - but will serve you better in the long run than using a targeting key.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>I would also cousel against using defensive stance unless it's against a higher con or a class that uses poisons. Stuns are your friend, but aside from the fact that stuns are being nerfed, your best approach - especially early on - is to make the most of your burst DPS. Be aggressive and many opponents will lose their nerve and panic or start making mistakes. </FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>The usefulness of a stance macro is dependent on how you have your hotbars setup - I have all my stances grouped on mine so I can switch between the three as needed - although obviously a macro is slightly quicker as it's only 1 click rather than 2.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>As regards attributes I would say STR WIS STA and AGI. Wisdom is much more important in PvP as having high resists can make fights with casters a lot easier. I advise STR for the primary attribute because it ties into your question about weapons: </FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>Starting out, go with the STR AA and save all the money you would have spent on weapons to upgrade your spells and armour. If you dislike the STR line (and many do) it's easy and cheap enough to change it once you get your hands on some decent dropped weapons.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=3>All this is not to say TheSummoned is wrong - but the answers to your questions depend on what sort of Bruiser you want to play - if you want to be a PvP group tank for example, the STR line is not recommended. The advice I've given is geared towards excelling at single-target high damage. No doubt there'll be plenty of other opinions from PvPing Bruisers with different playstyles and most of them will probably be right, too. :smileyvery-happy:</FONT></P>

<DIV>1. What is the best way to keep your target locked? It seems I keep losing target and have a hard time targeting the player again.</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>I have a combination I use, similar to both of the two posted above, I use the mouse to innitialy target my opponent, then if I get taunted off or they drop as my target I use a key I bound to "target previous target" a very useful ability to bind to an easily accesable key for PvP.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. What are the best specials to use at my level?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>Honestly I do not remeber, I would use a differant set for casters, scouts, fighters and healers, I would post a 5 page post on how to attack each class if I got into it so I am going to leave this to someone else.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What are the best stances to use?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>At level 18? I would say defensive, if you are XPing. If you are hunting (PvP) then use offensive espeicaly if you are in a group with a healer.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. What attributes should I focus on?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>Here is another area I differ from the above, not to say they are wrong but I go Stamina first, it is the hardest to raise, keep in mind however that if an item has exceptional HPs on it, that is good in place of stamina. Agility second, but if I find an item that has a lot of Str on it I would trade it out since, as stated before, Agility is so easy to cap. I do not consentrate much on Str since Str does not do you much good when you are dead.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. What is the best armor/weapons to use?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>Crafted Legendary is a great place to start. Harvest nodes and find a good taylor and weaponsmith. Hug them, love them, treat them as though they were your new girlfriend, spoil the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] out of them. If you are looking for drops, get Vault acces in Fallen gate, for when you are in your mid 20's. You want to harvest the nodes in Commonlands, they are worth significanly more than the nodes in the T-1 zones. Sell those rares and resourses and buy a set of T-3 armor for when you are lvl 20+. The crafted legendary is much better than the Armor quest armor. You should not spend much time in your teens, I would not reccomend investing in T-2 gear for that reason alone, save up and invest in T-3.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>Hope that helps, GL to you.</FONT></DIV>
