Bruisers are needed in groups to fullfil the tank requirement. We provide more dps and utility than most other tanks. Some people insist on using plate tanks but those people are noobs you dont want to group with anyway. Also don't forget that bruisers are a one man (or woman) group, at least until the next patch. There are a lot of minor differences between a bruiser and monk. Monks can heal their groupmates while bruisers can heal more often but only themselves.  Monks swing faster while bruisers do more damage per swing. Monk CAs recycle faster while bruisers do more damage. Monks are little pretty boys in skirts and white vests knitted by their grandmothers while bruisers are towering musclebound wrecking balls, at least until the next patch.<div></div>

In its current incarnation, it involves us being bent over SOEs knee and paddled violently with a spiked club. There's plenty of threads about it in this forum.<div></div>

So basically were getting nerfed to hell? Maybe not such a good time to take up a brusier?<div></div>

I wouldn't say we're being nerfed to hell, but we're definately being nerfed an excessive amount for a class that in my view was already nicely balanced.<div></div>

<P>hmm yes were not being nerfed to hell....</P> <P>1) fear and mezz being put on same timer</P> <P>2) stuns reduced from 4 secs to 2.5</P> <P>3) haymaker having knockback taken out and replaced with daze effect</P> <P>4) 2 or 3 ca's having their damaged reduced</P> <P>hmmm yah your right... were not being nerfed to hell.  Combine all of those changes and our abilty to solo has taken a big hit imo.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<div></div>Don't do it isn't worth it. If you look at a mob to hard SOE will nerf you and make you blind. Play a Monk. The Bruiser is dead imo.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Thail on <span class=date_text>05-26-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:17 AM</span>

<DIV>now I'm not 100% on any of this, but really....   every class is getting bent over from what I read (except maybe coercers and illusionists).   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>every melee class is getting their stun durations reduced...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Never once read Haymaker line was getting touched, but did read our backstab is having stun removed to daze  (which if you ask me is pretty f'n lame)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>yes our Fear and Mezz are being put on same timer  which is pretty f'n lame as well, but in a dungeon with a bunch of mobs Fear is pretty messed when you end up bringing in more adds.  Having them on same timer makes our solo vs. Heriocs much more complicated, but we're still gonna mow through solo mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2 skills having there damage reduced, but from what I've read it is not that significant.  Blazing Lunge line and Savage Blows.   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We're still gonna own  just wait and see.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These people typing betray to monk obviously don't realize how much better we still are then those queynos pansies.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm a 66 Bruiser in Blackburrow  owning 70 monks  hehe and a few bruisers come to think of it, and after all those so called "nerfs" hit us (and everybody else!!)   We'll still be one of the most fun classes to play in EQ2 LAND</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Rusty.</P> <P>There is a pvp button on each ability. This means that the dev's can make changes to us if they feel we are too overpowered in pvp and not affect our pve ability.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<P>How do you know all of these "nerfs" are related to pvp only?</P> <P>you do realize that they will be expanding our AA tree right?</P>

imho the nerfs are to give chanters more of a purpose. But lets not de-rail this thread with nerf talk.<div></div>

Let me start by saying that the bruiser class is a great class and I have enjoyed the ride from when I first started Ajeco in march to now, and will probably still continue to enjoy it with Yukia. What Zizz said true as to what role we fill. How the bruiser differs from monks? Well, they are essentially very simular with bruisers having a more mitigation while monks having more avoidance. But the true difference is in the attitude of both classes. Monks are the tranquil, zen type beings that think everything in the world has it's purpose, while the bruiser is either that bouncer that won't let you in, or the bully that steals your lunch money every noon, or... well you get the picture. <div></div>

Think about it. They nerfed a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]tone of loot and you knoq in the next expansion the loot will be as good as it was in Lyceum before being nerfed. they nerf our dps now so in the next expansion we wil lget better dps AA's putting us back where we were! Its there evil little plan and i dont like it one bit!
