I read through all the threads I could find but I didn't find a lot of help. I'm looking for opinions on what AA profile I should pursue for my now level 41 Bruiser. Most of the time I duo with my defiler. I anticipate that trend will continue, where my Bruiser is the MT and primary DPS. I might join in some guild raiding at higher levels, but that is secondary.

What AA build would you recommend for my bruiser and why? Right now I've been playing with the wisdom line, because the area knockdown if very helpful in handling groups and adds.

On a side note, I just got Devastation Fist which is an awesome skill. The Bloodlines quests were an incredible grind though.

Thanks

Popular options are the STR line, which makes bare fisted attacks very powerful, and can lead to a permanent 5% riposte while unarmed. You also might want to do the INT line for critical hits and possibly + to parry.

I advise you leave AGI alone. STA and WIS are both good options, but being taht you aren't at the level cap yet I'd suggest STR line, because you won't need to upgrade weapons anymore if your using your fists.

I agree.

Str or Int.

I have 4 points in Eagle Spin - which is great for turning mobs around to "sucker punch" them

and 8 points in the crit line (22% chance to crit) on all melee attacks including ca's.

Very nice when one hundred hand slap crits.

Yeah, I tried out Eagle Spin first, it was nice. I didn't get far enough into the INT to get the critical hits. The Crane Sweep in Wisdom line is nice because I can AOE knockdown which gives me time to get a ward/heal off with my defiler. If none of the end abilities are a must have, I may just dabble in INT,STR, and WIS. The ranger choices seemed very clear to me, but these are a little tougher to figure out.

i play bruiser and defiler, main tank and heal most every group i am in, so in a good position to offer an opinion. defilers are great healers for avoidance tanks, but thier main lack is in dps, so you want to do good dps as a primary aim. that would be the str line i read, however the loss of stats (ie no weapons) for me is unaccetable for me personally.

my original line up was wis all at 4 except the one that procs a hit to ae at 8. agi line with the proc maxed out and the +to defense as high as u can manage with whats left.

i recently respeced droping agi and going for max crits in the int line, im still looking at this but it seems to be a slight increase in dps. i put the points i had in def into parry, seems to be about the same result there.

you will never burn down groups of mobs with any tank / healer combo as quick as you will with a bruiser hitting his ae's then wis lines last aa, then the defiler hitting defile. its only available every 5mins, but against x4 heroic groups (thats 8x^^ mobs) i hit just under 3k dps on the bruiser and 700dps on the defiler, just about the most fun i had so far in eq2...

Its not that i don't liek throwing out high dps numbers. Its just that its not a fun ability. Its a click and wait 16secs for auto atk button. I liek knokcout combonation it keeps me cycling my combat arts as fast as i cna to produce high dps and thats fun but the crane flock wis final ability is just not fun for me. I am not sure which aa path i will ultimately take afte rlu24 i neeed to wait and see. Atm on live though you can't beat a max int line aa setup for dps tankign mix. 22% crit, 500 dam eagle spin, the final mitgation ability. Then add a few stamina lines into it for more dps is the nicest setup i have tried. The range sta debuff pull, then the proc adds up nice. I got to see whats the final rendition to the int line before i focus on dual wielding or 2 hander.
If you are going to have the AAs to get the bottom ability turned on, I think the INT line works very well for a duo bruiser. There will be times when you can't seem to keep up on healing, that mitigation boost is VERY useful ... has saved my wagon many times (I duo almost all the time, with a /sigh Templar - not ideal mate for wearing paper armor, but not rerolling). I have 43 AAs, level 69 Bruiser, level 68 Templar. Almost all those levels and AAs came from duo. (I was hoping to be one of the few that hit 50AA before hitting 70xp, won't make it). and so on... Stonegrub Hungerpang, 69 Bruiser Ubogi Finestkind, 68 Templar Kith

Str/Stam/Int 4-4-8. Im happy so far. Once I get my pris 3.0 or some sweet fabled t7 weapons I will most likely switch back to Wis/Int/stam, havent decided on points spread yet. The one nice thing about the str line is you dont have to worry about spending plats or DKP on weapons. You can concentrate on filling in JC and armor.

IMHO non of the final choices are worth the 8 points required.
