<DIV>I started a bruiser and like the class. But on my main I keep hearing people say how horrible they are in a grp. What benefit do they bring to a grp? (besides alt tank and dps) because its not hard to get a tank and dps.</DIV>

<DIV>In a group as far as Buffs Bruisers give a Group DPS buff, increasing the auto attack damage of the group.. Additionally we serve as excellent tanks against single mobs, but are less effetcive againts large groups, as we don't have quite as much Area of Effect Aggro. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> We can DPS very well... so we are able to play multiple roles in a group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Also we have Feign Death, which does 2 very nice thinsg for a typical XP group.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> 1) makes us a good puller, because if we end up pulling too many mobs we can FD and reset them....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> 2) Makes us a good anchor in case of wipe. Have teh Bruiser Feign death and then Rez the healer after the mobs reset... ( as long as they gave you a feather/stone). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We have a few other utility spells such as a fear and a mez and a nice Melee Debuff, but what I mentioned above are the Basics. </DIV>

Yeah I would have to agree with the above assessment. Bruisers brings tons to a group, from a slight mez to a fear to the ability to MT or SA. To many adds? Offtank until the cleric type starts asking the MT why dont ya all switch <span>:smileytongue:</span>. Never had trouble getting a group as DPS or MT, can solo like crazy, farm like crazy and just fall down and rest anywhere. What more could ya ask?<div></div>

<DIV>"To many adds? Offtank until the cleric type starts asking the MT why dont ya all switch "</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can't tell you how true this is. I am currently a lvl 64 Bruiser who is often asked to MT in my groups that include plate tanks of the same level. Even with light DPS, I am often stealing aggro unintentionally so they say "Hey, go ahead and switch, we'll do fine" and fine we indeed do. Don't let anyone say we are just middle of the road. We are great at both tanking and delivering a steady stream of DPS. My typical group has few casters and never any scouts. What class do they love for their DPS? THe Bruiser. Our biggest asset for being DPS is if we steal aggro accidentally, we can Feign Death and deliver the mob back to the tank. Best class, in any game, I have enjoyed playing and it's truly worth it in my opinion.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Coquette</DIV> <DIV>lvl 64 Bruiser of Antonia Bayle</DIV>

I have played since launch and their is only one class I play. :smileywink: the list of what we can do to be honest is largly a result of the players own ability and knowledge of the class.</P> <P>Now Gaige may come in and tell you the way of the monk is better and bla bla bla. Just look at Crabook and Ganjook. Aint they just so loveable :smileysurprise</P>

<P>What people fail to mention about Bruisers is that high end raiding guilds only have so many spots for Bruisers.</P> <P>I have had guild leaders flat out tell me they don't see why they need more than one or two.</P> <P>Don't get me wrong we are an amazing class, but 8 times out of 10 when I see someone lfg in chat it's a Bruiser or SK...</P> <P>DPS - there are other classes that can do that.</P> <P>Tanking - Guardians and Beserkers are better choices.</P> <P>CC adds - again other classes can do that better.</P> <P>Raid targets that use poison? ok someone grab the Bruiser.</P> <P>Again I'm not saying I can't get groups - I do, I am not saying we are not a good solid grouping class - we are - I think someone has to add some real game experiences to the discussion and quit pretending that we don't have some problems.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>What do we bring? Are you INSANE :smileyvery-happy: ? No, seriously... we can only tank, we can only DPS, we can only off-tank. And unlike some, we CAN fulfill all three roles. Some Scouts like to slip on a shield and occasionally PRETEND to tank, but puh-LEASE! I am a 43rd Bruiser and worked with a 50+ assassin, who tried to take over once... ONCE =) After we got back together at the docks, that stopped.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Use your skills correctly, learn your path, and you will ALWAYS be welcome.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Redmouser</DIV> <DIV>Bruiser</DIV>

Best thing about bruisers is that if you reach 0 HP you get a 100% heal with an evac! Oh wait... Those are brigands... Nothing to see here, move along. <div></div>

<blockquote><hr>Zigmund9 wrote:<div></div> <p>What people fail to mention about Bruisers is that high end raiding guilds only have so many spots for Bruisers.</p>--SNIP--<hr></blockquote>High end guilds are picky in general about classes. They only keep a few of ANY class in thier guild not just bruisers. Thats not the problem. The problem is atm bruisers are a fotm so there is more out there. If your goal in life is to raid anyway play a healer/chanter/bard. If you REALLY care go to your server's top guild websites see what classes they need if ANY and grind a toon to 70 rq (can be done in 2 months and under). <div></div>
