<DIV>Hello all, I'm new to EQ2 and have a level 20 Bruiser. Perusing the boards lead me to believe that choosing STA whenever possible (traits, equipement, etc) was the popular option but I find I am running out of power pretty rapidly after a few fights. Is this a common problem with Bruisers? If so, should I switch to choosing power regen or power pool traits? What attribute determines our power pool amount? Thanks for any advice!</DIV>

<P>Power Pool is based on Strength score.</P> <P>I picked power regen, myself... in-combat regen cannot as easily be increased as health. I still picked Stamina for all my +ability traits though.. so you could say I was a mix.</P>

<P>Yupp, STA is the way to go with a Brusier because STR is easy to increase.</P> <P>Remember to always have good drink with you when you are out on a XP-session,<BR>it will increase your power regeneration a lot.</P>

yeah STR gives brawlers power... but it doesnt matter too muchwhen you're tanking you'll burn power faster than anyone else in group... doesn't matter if Guard, Zerk.. blah blah Monk, Bruiser...the tank will usually be runnin lower, esp. in a fast pullin group or with people people who are aggro mongers<div></div>

<P>Thank you for the advice. I always use the best drink possible but at levels 17-19, the tier 2 drink starts getting too weak.</P> <P>So I should take the HP pool maximum increase as a trait choice ? not the power regen or power pool?</P>

I personally try to go for as much HPs possible. The higher you level the more you'll be getting hit for. The more HPs you have the less total % of your health will be taken. Unless you are primary solo'er or NEVER mt. But as far as STR, i feel thats our easiest stat to max. either that or AGI <div></div>

Max HP increaser is way to go.  Because it scales with you each level. Plus... Your self-heal is % based off your max hp. Higher your hp, more healing power you'll get off your heal CA. in-combat reg doesn't scale with you at all. It will "seem" weaker and weaker as you level up exactly the same reason why tier 2 food/drink gets "weaker" as you approach tier 3. But good thing that there is Tier 3 food/drink so it scales just fine. In-combat reg trait doesn't scale at all and there is no upgrades to it beyond lvl 50 while max hp or power % kept going well beyond lvl 50 cuz your hp/power keep going up and up..  Your max heal power % will keep givnig more and more HP heal as your max hp keep going up thanks to gear/level ups..

<P>Personally, I believe that the best way to save power is to upgrade spells.  True, if you cast them at the same rate, you use the same power, but they are much more efficient if upgraded.  you need to cast less at adept 3 than you do at app1.</P> <P>For my bruiser, I've ranked strength and agility as my prime concerns, while on the lookout for stamina and mitigation whenever strength and agility arent available.  I'm likely in the wrong for going for agility before stamina, but I'm not fanatical about that rule. </P> <P>You can't go wrong with strength though, as it increases your power pool AND your damage output.  The other stats only do one thing each.</P>

Always take power regen and strength.  If they are not a choice then select wisdom and then agility.  After that, whatever.  If you max out strength, then focus on wisdom and make sure to get all those CAs to Adept3.  Solo or raid you will be much more happy.

I went with the one thing I always run out of and is the hardest void to fill. Power Regen.

<DIV>Some other power management tips, from a brawler who took Stamina and max HPs:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Totems! once you're of the level to use them, find a woodworker to make you Spirit of the Monkey and/or Gazer totems... I'm absolutely addicted to these things and have multiple dealers to feed my fix, I usually buy them 30 at a time or so... The Gazer are better, but the Monkey aren't too much worse and are a lot cheaper...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Druids... If you have a druid in the group and they are doing good on power ask them if they can put Spirit of the Bat on you... it's like a level 30 or 35 skill that was intrduced from the bloodlines pack, but Sages can make it for them too... At adept3 it's like +9.4 in combat power regen</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
