<div></div>Lol, gotta love people who don't know class interactions well. defiler + plate tank is about as ineffective as templar + bruiser is.

Hehe, was trioing spiders in SS yesterday, and we invited a SK because I was a little tired of tanking, and he said that he would draw the spiders back a bit further so the scout could stay behind <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Told him bruiser wasn't scouts and he was like "oops, sorry, my bad" <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> good thing I was in a good mood <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div><div>My favorite group was when one of them said to me in /gsay:</div><div> </div><div>"Kam, you need to get your shield before we go in." :smileyvery-happy:</div><div> </div><div>This was a lvl 60+ as we were entering Palace of the Awakened. </div><div> </div><div>Some people have never really grouped with a Bruiser as the tank. Pre LU 13, we werent really considered tanks - we were more DPS. After that though, it's been a long hard road trying to convince people. Even at level 69, my groups tend to /gsay: "Now all we need is a tank."</div><div> </div><div>I take a deep breath and type to the group: "Well, lets just go in and kill some trash mobs while we wait for one to come up." And, that's usually all she ever wrote. I take them to fight herorics and at the end of the day, we all break group with a "Thanks for the awesome group." I realize I'm not a one man show in the group, however, it just feels great to educate those who have never grouped with a Bruiser before.</div><p>Message Edited by Danndak on <span class="date_text">03-27-2006</span><span class="time_text">04:27 AM</span></p>

<div>I've had a few run ins like this myself, I just smile and don't say anything and let them die. While they're getting pummled, I'm staying high on the aggro list, that way when they die its that much easier for me to take over. There have been numerous groups lately that have asked me to come tank for them and that was even w/ plate tanks in the group. Just last week, I was in a gru w/ a guard who was 2 lvls below me and he was getting hammered. I pulled aggro due to DPS on a few heroics and ended up tanking better than him so he eventually called a halt and dumped his buffs on me and said to lead on. </div><div> </div><div>Yea it is irritating when you're only looked at as mid lvl DPS, but when the tank (or wannabe tank drops) and you save the day ppl start looking at you differently. (Or if they [Removed for Content] you off enough, you can always FD and laugh at their pain.)</div>

<div></div><p>Versatility is what sold me on the Bruser class. I love the fact that we can fill a DPS slot as well as a tank slot, IMO, all things equal, level, quality of armor, I think a plate tank does a better job on hard hitting mobs, but we are not to be underestemated, I have tanked Epic x2 mobs at level 35, as well as any plate wearer could have.</p><p>I have discovered that we are a skilled class. As a player you have to use our skills properly to tank or you will destroy your group. While there are tactics that a great Guardian uses vs an OK Guardian, the Taunt spam works. To play a Bruser/Monk you have to understand every skill you have and when best to use it. If we just spam taunts and damage, we will lose control of adds, kill the mage, then the healer will drop, then it is game over.</p><p>Personaly, I don't like tanking, I became sedetary apparently with my scout in the PvE world and now I love it when the SK or Guard brings the mobs to me and I just beat on them. Soo, when they say "your not a tank! We need a plate tank!" I am ok lol, when the Guard drops, I will take over, until then, I will chill with the scouts and mages.</p>
