View Full Version : [PvP] Bruiser cannot issue CA's if not facing a target that is on the run (being ran after)

<span>In PvP, Bruisers (am guessing monks as well) cannot hit in the back or side when running after a target (sprinting or not) - <b>Even </b>when in range  - You have to go <u>past </u>the target and then issue the CA. Since we don't run fast as we are fighters, by the time you have past the target (finally) and you're ready to hit, you're close to be out-of-power and the target quickly gets away...Why can't we hit a target (PC) when running after it and being within the range of the CA - I try it all the time and I just can't hit it (I guess no message, it just won't launch it and I keep at pounding at my keys)...I think this should be addressed....I should be able to DMG (not just auto-attack) someone that am following right behind (less than 5m for instance) and not having to go past the target (in front)...Of course am using my ranged weapon which we know is weak compared to other ranged ones but that is <u>not </u>the point of this thread...I think this has <b>never </b>been implemented by SOE because in PvE, well, you don't run after mobs, in PvP you do (PC) and let me tell you that it is already tough for a buiser to catch up on anyone running from us...(i.e. no snare, etc - I know SKs get a CA snare cos I played one)...Anyway, I think this should be implemented for all the classes which can cast a CA on the run while pursuing some ennemy (not every fighter can lauch a CA while on the run (moving) - Brawlers <b>can</b>) and being in range for the CA to launch...Thanks for reading...Feedback appreciated...</span><div></div>

<div></div><p>Agreed - if I can get in range of a player I should be able to hit him/her.</p><p>Problem is PVP is an after thought (like it was in EQ1) for Sony. Sony has a long history of adding content, and more content, and more content - and fixing (nerfing) balancing whatever you want to call it to keep players "busy" and "thier focus on new content" instead of actually implementing systems to make (keep) players happy.</p>

Yes it's difficult. Living in Australia, my ping makes it even harder. I've been following snared targets before and still couldn't attack since where my client things the opponant is and where the server knows they are are very different things.Luckily as a bruiser we possess such immense burst damage that you tend to only need to hit people once and it's all over. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

   I would like to see Brawlers come out with an AA or a CA line of "burst sprints". It would be a power draining move and/or timed (I'm thinking starting at 8 secs<font size="2" color="#6633ff"> ( + ups duration with Adept/Master or every 14 levels)</font>, where you gain a <font color="#ccffcc">10%</font> <font size="2" color="#6633ff">(+ ups % with Adept/Master or every 14 levels)</font> in combat speed.  Being experts in physical health and donning light armor, that woul/could be acceptable.My <font color="#cccc00">2 cp</font><div></div>

Thanks for all the feedback - I really hope some dev can pitch in and mention if this is something that 1) they are aware of, 2) if this is ever going to be addressed - Haven't seen many Dev posts on the bruiser forum but I haven't been a brawler for too long enough I guess <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I guess am going to /petition because it seems like there is no way to get feedback from support or Devs through this forum - it is and has been awfully quiet - I suggest you PvP bruisers do the same. It really starts to tick me off when am chasing an ennemy and am in range (like right on top of the target) and I cannot launch any CA's - Clearly this has not been implemented and is a big hole in the PvP play for brawlers (let's say fighters)...<div></div>

<div></div><p>All the scout get a nice in combat speed buff with achievement, I bet it will severly impact our chasing issue with them.</p><p>On a side note I clearly remmenber Moorgrad proposing for Bruiser to have full speed buff all the time as an innate feat at the early stage of the game dev. Though as you noticed it did never made it to the EQ2 beta for many good reasons... But the idea is not crazy :p</p><p>Finally in the early stage of the Pvp beta, the speed buff was 8% which imo was much better</p>

<div></div><p>You know i was thinking this whole time that it was just server lag or ping that made me look like i was close enough to launch a CA but actually wasnt. but fighitng again today ya i saw that my CA's where lit up not greyed out. So EQ thought i was definetely in range >.< what a bunch of baloney.</p><p>I dont think this is something built into the game. None of my CA's say i have to be in front of the mob. hopefully this gets fixed here before to long.</p>

<div></div><p>Me and a guildie where fighting rats and frogs in the edgewater drains he would engage in combat and I would proceed to attack them also but from behind using my CA's so right there it tells me I don't have to be in front of mobs for CA's to work and one other thing I noticed is that my CA's would work further away then my auto attack which is the complete opposite of PVP fighting for me. In PVP I can auto attack while chasing and moving while staying in range but can't use CA's while chasing and moving and staying in range it's always coming up with target out of range, now if my CA's have a greater range then my auto attack then how the heck is this happening???? It seems to work alright in PVE enviroment so whats the deal SOE not one comment on this issue.</p><p>Please fix this problem.</p>
