<div>my monk has a useful combat art called face of the mountain</div><div>so when my bruiser got heavy scarring the other day, at first glance i thought it was similar</div><div>but it isnt</div><div>it stuns my bruiser and raises his mit for 30 seconds</div><div>so basically, he stand around like a punching bag for half a minute, unable to move or defend himself</div><div>i try hard to understand what the devs have in mind when they create these arts to shape the nature of a bruiser</div><div>but am drawing a blank on this one</div><div>can someone suggest a circumstance when it would be appropriate to use heavy scarring?</div><div>thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

<div></div><div>It boosts your mit for the duration whilst u are stunned ... however you can still taunt whilst stunned so what u think its used for :smileywink:</div>

when you notice your healers will not be able to keep you alive, it is a possibility to help reduce the damage you take. Of course this is not really suitable for regular exp mobs, but if you group faces a tough named mob or on raids, it can be helpful. Notice that we can use our single target taunt while stunned, so you can still do that. Problem though is that single target taunts alone are not enough to hold aggro. So I usually use rescue and then the stunning mitigation buff.Finnster<div></div>

no, it's definately NOT perma locked. It turns out that after using rescue + stunning me, I need to click it off after about 20 secs or I lose aggro.Finnster<div></div>

I use it when - as mentioned earlier - the healer is having trouble to keep up.Also I use it when soloing. Use a massive onslaught of CAs to bring one or two mobs down quickly in the lovely brutal way bruisers can. Apply heavy scaring (and change stance) and wait for the CAs to be usable again. Bring the rest of the mobs down. Also, I use it to get control of the situation when I am not the tank and a group is spinning out of control; wizards are getting agro, healers have to heal here and there and people just running around in panic. First i get agro (couple of AOEs, taunts and buff), secondly apply heavy scaring, thirdly tell the tank that I am gonna FD in x seconds and that he needs to be ready to taunt.

<div>I use it for raids and Named NPC's</div><div> </div><div>Raid: Run in Get all taunts off , then instanty use this skill ( it's at the start of the fight that the mob hits the hardest so i use it here ) , Keep using taunt while you are stunned and hope your dirges / Coercer / Assasin makes enough agro for you trough transfer.</div><div> </div><div>Grouping: Run in , Knockback combination , Time your stuns, spamm all your CA's in between and when you'r all out and mob isn't down yet get this spell going and let group finish it off.</div><div> </div><div>Greetings</div><div> </div><div>Daveke</div>

I use it to clear swarms of mobs.. Like whole rooms in runnyeye when duoing with my Fury friend. I will aggro the whole room, hopefully the miner room or some other room full of mostly down arrow mobs, use my ae attack, ae taunt, then pop both my mitigation buffs. The damage shield from the Fury combined with imbued legs means that all the mobs are at half life or lower when heavy scarring wears off. I've never lost aggro doing this.Another good use is for really strong boss mobs like the gobbler. Pop every attack on them then heavy scarring. Gives you 30 seconds of light healing load to recharge all your arts.<div></div>

I used it just the other night and saved a group wipe in Sanctum of the scale actually.I was offtanking for my group with our Guardian MT'ing,  someone in the group accidentally aggroed one of the named mobs when nobody was ready for it, a couple of the group members were having a quick afk.  The Guard went down through lack of healing and the named went straight for the wizzy, so I hit Rescue followed by my single target taunt.  Whacked on the Strapping Spirit line, went into Defensive stance and hit Heavy Scarring and just taunted him till the others killed it.. It worked well in that sort of emergency situation.. It'd be cool if it didn't stun you, but then it'd just be overpowered <span>:smileyvery-happy:So yeah, I'd have to say it's got its uses</span><div></div>
