<div>As I've understood it, this was never added to the spell books, so you cant get a crafter to make it. So am I correct in that I simply must quest in bloodlines myself to get this?</div><div> </div><div>Also, Im now 43, what level is appropriate to be able to fulfill the quests needed.</div>

<div></div><p>Thanks for the response Shep,</p><p>I was under the impression that the spell was no-trade?? I'll do as you suggested though. Thanks.</p>

<div></div>At your lvl you should be able to walk through mosts of the quests with ease.  They are time consuming, and most of the mobs with be grey, but grab a healer around 10 lvls lower and your green alot of stuff out.  The zone is fun, Bloodlines was a great addition, if you already purchased it, might as well experience it.

<div></div>Thanks for the tips. At 7 bucks, it sounds like it might be actually worth it to try it out finally. Im a bit hesitant since I presume that at some point they will make the whole pack free for everybody (parts already are).

<div>Devastation Fist is an attack that hits a non heroic (ie no arrows) for 100 % damage , basically its an instant kill .. you need to have got the bloodstone chronicles addon and do 3 faction quests to be able to buy it from the faction vendor ...</div><div> </div><div>Min LVL 35</div>

<div></div><p>Ok, here's the scoop <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   Devastation Fist has no craftable upgrade.  Therefore, it must be purchased from the Vendor in the camp by Timber Falls by the person who wishes to use it, as it is no trade.   **Brawlers are the ONLY class that have to do the quests to get their special ability, every other class can have an ap4 or ad3 made by a tradeskiller with the expansion who has bought the recipes.  The recipes are, in fact, tradable. However, there is no recipe for devastation fist.  So you have to do the quests.</p><p>With a group you can do Bloodlines, at least as far as you need to for Dev fist, in the low 30s.  If you're going to do Crypt of Th'aen, probably high 30s/low 40s (team).  Solo?  Well, that really depends on you.  I got myself to that point in the quest line solo around level 40, but it was slow, painful, involved a lot of feign death and actual death once I got to the level 35 and 36^^^.  By the time I was done with the *entire* bloodlines chronicle I think I was level 46 or so. </p><p>How much do you have to do?  Well, until the Quartermaster has your CA for sale - I check him every time I finish a quest because he periodically has more and more goodies - recipe books, some social armor, some trinket/charm things, etc.  Basically the part that confuses most people is that there are two separate quest lines going on. </p><p>Quest Line #1 : D'morte Family Crest.</p><p>Quest Line #2:  The Camp @ Timber Falls.</p><p>Basically, you do the first couple of quests from your /claimed insignia in Southern Nek Forest crypt, and then you feel 'led' to Timber Falls by the crest.  But, you you can't get into the Tombs of Night, the door wont clicky!  So, insert Quest Line #2.  The people at the camp near the falls conveniently want your help saving some scouts that went missing in the cave.  When you walk in the door, Quest Line #1 updates - and then wants you to 'find a way to the higher vaults of the cave'.  Eventually, as you help the Camp, Quest Line #2 eventually opens up an area that will update Quest Line #1, and so forth.</p><p>I believe to be able to purchase the Devastation Fist CA from the quartermaster you don't really need to go far. Probably the missing scouts and 1 more quest, I believe?  It has been a long while, even since I did this for the second time on my alt.  I do however recommend doing all of it, there is excellent xp, unique loot tables inside, and not to mention while you're in there you can farm yourself the Blood Drenched Gi, which no brawler should be without <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> </p><p> </p>

<div></div><div>Do you need to mentor down to do the quests, get faction, and buy Devastation Fist?   Or can a level 60 just solo thru grays and get it done?</div>

<div></div><font color="#ffff00">No need to mentor, you can rip through greys in an hour and get the skill if youre already beyond the level for the content. The skill is simply amazing.</font>

If you wanna try to get the blood stained Gi while your there you may wanna think about mentoring but if you don't care or have it like the previous poster said no need to mentor<div></div>

Two of the times the mob was yellow, the others blue. Is this just bad luck or is this skill really that bad?</p>

BTW I am stuck on the last part of the 2nd quest to gather blood from the gobbos.  I have gotten 6 or 7 " dead grinnin" and so far have not been able to collect the last pint of blood, for 4 days now./bugged already<div></div>

ShinmaRyche
03-16-2006, 11:09 PM
<div></div><p><font color="#ffff00">Yeah, happened to me as well. All is not lost though. If you leave to reset the grinnin, remember this. Say you need the 3rd grinnin, and 5th grinnin, and you leave. When you reenter, it resets the count. Example, you reenter and get a dead grinnin. Thats the first, no matter how many you had before. You wont be able to click it. Just move on till you find the second, which you also wont be able to click. When you fins the 3rd, you should be able to get the update, same with the 5th when you get to it.</font></p><p><font color="#ffff00">I hope this helps.</font></p>

<div></div><blockquote><hr>ganjookie wrote:How do you upgrade in instaant kill?  AOE instant kill?<div></div><hr></blockquote>All I meant is to provide upgrades to it that don't do anything different.  In other words, allow Brawlers who don't have Bloodlines to get the skill crafted for them.  The upgrade would do the same thing as the one you get currently, but you wouldn't need the expansion pack to get it.  As I understand, Brawlers are currently the only ones who *have* to buy the pack to get their level 35 Bloodlines skill.  All other classes can just have it crafted for them.

<div></div>You are missing my point.  Currently in game some upgrades to skills are no different than the base skill.  This is what I am proposing.  The only reason for the upgrade would be so that you would have a craftable option (so you don't have to purchase Bloodlines and quest to get the skill).

ganjookie
03-18-2006, 02:52 AM
Less Bruisers that have it, imo, the better. if we all had it, it might get nerfed for some reason.I see your point, I just dont agree with it<div></div>

DarkEle
03-19-2006, 01:27 AM
I can understand that you wouldn't want it to get nerfed.  But it's not just Bruisers, it's Monks too.  I just don't think that Brawlers should be the only class set that has to pay RL cash for their special level 35 skill.<div></div>
