View Full Version : New Bruiser Icon

I've seen numerous threads on this forum about Chuck and Mr. T as Bruiser icons. Roddy Piper has even been mentioned a few times. Those guys are good icons for real life people but what about fictional charactors? What fictional charactor would make a good Bruiser? For me the ultimate bruiser from a movie, or movies as the case may be, is Riddick as played by Vin Diesel from Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. Anyone have any other suggestions? I realize this isn't the most serious subject in the world but every once in a while I get tired of discussing who's been nerfed and why they did/didn't deserve it.

Hollywood Hulk Hogan a bruiser? Nah, he's just a pretty boy sell out. Same with Randy 'Macho Man' Savage. You wanna talk Bruisers - Andre the Giant, Big John Stud, Hacksaw Jim Dugan, and George the Animal Steele.THOSE are bruisers.get over the whole martial artist thing too. Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Steven Seagall, etc...Anyone who fights with more training than you'd learn in one session at the YMCA is a monk. We're not talking skilled forms of martial arts here. Bruisers are street fighting, barroom brawling, kneebreaking Muscle.Clint Eastwood in Any Which Way is a better example.Give a bruiser a beer, and a pool cue, and we'll take on anything or anyone. From Baby deer, to Darathar. Single Handedly. We might lose, but they'll remember it.
Message Edited by Maelwys1 on 03-06-200605:04 AM

My vote would also have to go with Marv (can only be done right by Mickey Rourke...) from Sin City.He is:100% Grade ATop ChoicePrime CutUSDA SelectBruiser of all Bruisers. He not only has the power, but the attitude, the lack of pain sensation, and the intestinal fortitude to take on whatever masses he needs to get what he wants."This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left.
