I went Alchemist and haven't been regretting it at all. The upside of course is that you can make your own skill upgrades. I also have an alt who is a Carpenter and has made quite a nice nest egg on strong boxes and status reduction furniture.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Ahoy Mate! I'm only offering my opinion here as a suggestion. Something I did and its worked rather well.</p><p>If you go Tailoring, you will provide yourself with the Leather Armor you need to stay strong, and while harvesting you'll find rares you can use in armor recipes for profit, or you can sell the rare items outright. You also make Hex Dolls as a Tailor (They're charms that do some pretty cool stuff and give good stat buffs) and you'll be the one making bags for inventory slots for profit, or as a small token for others who've opened the trade window with an Adept 1 of your ability.</p><p>I contemplated Weaponsmithing when I first began, and I'm glad I didn't go that route. You wear alot of armor! And its more affordable to make your armor and buy a weapon that make a weapon and buy the armor. I've had a lot of luck trading items for good weapons also.</p><p>However, its entirely your decision. I hope whatever you choose, you think it through and enjoy your time in Norrath.</p><p>Cheers!</p>

<div></div><div>As for Tailored Armor, each tier (lvl range 10-20, 20-30, etc.) offers a new set of Leather armor (and cloth armor for the caster classes). The good stuff is the "Legendary" which requires you to combine a rare harvested item. These armor pieces (very easily attainable as a Tailor) are only *surpassed* by the really really rare drops from Raid Instances or Master Chests. </div><div> </div><div>So basically, as a tailor, you will be sought out by all who wear leather or cloth armor.</div><div> </div><div>Here's a link to a piece of leather armor you can wear at level 20: <a target="_blank" href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=66972">http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=66972</a> --But you'll have to be a lvl 29 tailor to make it, simply because you have to imbue it. All imbued chest items give the effect "Lambent Imbue" which has a chance to proc and will heal you for small amounts. Its the Pristine Imbued Armor Pieces everyones looking for.</div><div> </div><div>You'll have to do some research to get the recipes and such squared away, but once you get on the right track its pretty basic. Just know that your items are sought after and you will make a living as a tailor, and by crafting your own armor you'll be doing yourself a favor at the same time.</div><div> </div><div>Now status reduction from furniture is another perk in the game. Once you start moving along you will begin accumulating personal status points. You can aquire these status points from completing "writs" which are given in Freeport by the Militia House, the Seafury Bucaneers, the Arcane Science, or the Temple of War (these are just quests that reward status points and faction. After so many faction with one guild you will get a title prefix for your name). You may have already recieved some unusual items in your inventory that say "perhaps a guild of scouts/priests/warriors could make use of this." These items can be sold to the respective guild (Militia House, Seafury Bucaneers, etc.) for status points.</div><div> </div><div>So you have all these status points, you can use them to pay your upkeep for some of the really nice apartments within Freeport. The nicer your furniture, the less status points you pay for upkeep.</div><div> </div><div>I've found quite a few rare woodworking items while harvesting and usually find a woodworker thats willing to trade a bag or another piece of loot in return for them crafting my nice new piece of furniture.</div>
