<div></div><p>As far as PvP goeth...here is a link to may want to check out....was done this week.</p><p><a target="_blank" href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=13160">http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=7&message.id=13160</a></p><p> </p><p>Both Monks and Bruisers are very good chars with Bruisers having a slight edge in lethality. But in a long fight Monks will have more dps, plus group heals, we only have self heal on a shorter timer than theirs. They have invis. Monks have shorter reuse timers on their arts but they are not as powerful as Bruiser. So people who have both Monk and Bruiser at same lvls usually think Bruisers are a bit more powerful.</p><p>So there ye have it...i just retired all my chars...again....but you can't go wrong with either.</p>

Pnaxx explanation is pretty good overall. The question is, which is more important to you....Dueling, Soloing, Tanking, DPSing? If you want to beat up other players in duels, Bruisers have the edge. No question. Monks are certainly good, but the combination of Stun Immunity, faster timer on heal self, a mez skill which gives you that much more chance of running around behind someone and whacking them with your big attack, and burst DPS...these things make dueling bruisers a pain in the a@@. [Trust me, I'm a Monk...I have to devise all sorts of strategies when i duel them and though I haven't fought many, i've probably lose about about 2 out of 3 duels with a bruiser] Still, against some other classes I as a Monk think I do better...my 4400 magic ward helps a lot against those spell chuckers...doesn't help me a bit against bruisers.Soloing I think Bruisers also have the advantage. Monks have invis, which is VERY handy, but the overall burst damage of the Bruiser is hard to beat.Tanking is another story. Both are good, but Monks with Tsunami, a big magic damage ward, enough DPS to build up hate and better avoidance overall get the nod in my book.Grouping while not a tank is a toss-up. Bruisers add some nice damge buffs, Monks add some nice haste. Monks also get a 60 skill that gives their avoidance to the MT. It's [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] good, but then again, there's lots of skills among the fighter classes like that.Last but not least Monks do get group FD, which is also pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] nice for a group.<div></div>

<div>Ya Jookie,</div><div>RL has reared it's nasty head again and I am sed to say, with me, there is no room for EQ. I love the game so much and the fellowship, and fer some reason it is too hard to keep in check. I can tell my RL suffers alot and when I see that happening I must do the right thing and quit. My job requires alot of hours and I am a married guy with 2 sons in early years.....there really isn't much tyme to actually play.......but the tricky part is, I am not able to regulate. When I am not playing all I want to be doing is play! lol It's crazy....tis kinda like a drug. Cept I have domne alot of drugs in my youth and this game has a hold on me unlike drugs did I think. Course then I had no wife or kids so maybe they did....but all I know is, there is something about this game that has too much of a draw on me. I was hoping to be able to just play a balanced way, but I found that too be too much a hassle. It yearns fer more...or I yearn fer more...however I want to look at it. At any rate....EVERCRACK had been good...just too good if ye get my drift.:smileysurprised: (but i can always check in to the forums:smileywink<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

<div></div><p>Well I dont know much about monks on this game but I will say that from what I've heard and seen a monk is more of a group benefit where a Bruiser is more of a solo , also a Bruiser can make a really fine tank / off tank . BUT since we dont get the Armor like tanks do we require alot more healing . Also if ya ever played EQ 1 a Bruiser is basically a straight up monk from EQ 1 where as a Monk is more like a bard from eq 1 , a group support class . Just my thoughts between the 2 , Like I said I havent played a monk so dont quote me but sounds about right .</p><p> </p>

<div></div><div>After raid parses show that in comparable gear, the 60 Bruiser than I raid with puts out a little more DPS over the course of a boss fight. How much? Maybe 3% at the low end, maybe 8% at the high. There's no doubt the bruiser consistently parses a bit higher, however.</div><div> </div><div>On the other hand, when the raid leader has to pick a brawler to sit out of a given raid, it's going to be the bruiser. Tsunami-Outer Calm Pulling is a well-known raid tactic, and it's a niche a bruiser will never fill. </div><div> </div><div>In a group, I defer to the bruiser tank in equivalent gear. My rationale is that I'm more of a benefit to the group if I can feign us when the bruiser dies. If I'm tanking, my ability to exercise this option is greatly reduced.</div><div> </div><div>In the end, it always comes down to what appeals to you. Sony has demonstrated a remarkable willingness to adjust classes, combat arts, and capabilities in a sweeping manner, and since I consider both bruisers and monks to be among the few nearly completely unbroken classes, I'm sure we're all up soon for a "revamp." <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Do what you want to do. Play the character that you want to play. Choose a style that speaks for you. Stick with it through overpowering and through nerf, and history says you'll probably appreciate your character a lot more at the end for what you've put into it than what you expected from it when you rolled it.</div><div> </div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by Jerhico on <span class="date_text">02-17-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:58 PM</span></p>
