<div>Hi,</div><div> </div><div>Can any of you offer me advice as to how best to tank this mob?</div><div> </div><div>I have fairly average gear, player made t6 rare in all slots except 1 which is fabled (serated necklace). Our group set up is fairly fixed at:</div><div> </div><div>Bruiser</div><div>Necromancer</div><div>Necromancer</div><div>Inquisitor</div><div>Wardan</div><div>Random DPS</div><div> </div><div>I usually pop deadly spirit and stone deaf before pulling, and often use rescue after 1st taunt to get a good aggro head start. My Retaliation stance is adept 3 and provoking is master 1. Am finding that the mob rips me a new one fairly quickly ( have tried with a defiler and no joy) and even if he doesnt am having difficulty with holding aggro due to 5 lvl difference between me and mob.</div><div> </div><div>I try to cycle my stuns but often resisted ( 2 are adept 3).</div><div> </div><div>Any advice greatfully received, not interested in hearing i suck and that you pwn the mobin your sleep tho thanks in advance <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Illl</div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by Tsunamai on <span class="date_text">01-22-2006</span><span class="time_text">06:59 AM</span></p>

<div>This guy really just rips alot of [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] agianst brawlers for some weird reason. I got some pretty nice gear and he still knocks me around like a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. But with 2 healers you should be able to get him down;( Shamans are your friend<3</div>

<div></div><p>Two healers is a must for a bruiser to tank this mob hehe 3 healers would be best =D with master1 Retribution I run in there with stone deaf, close mind and deadly spirit even with my avoidance over 71% he still rips me a new one as well. the problem is the jerk is orange and his buddies resist just as much as him. </p><p>Now this is where I start to think avoidance still doesn't really match up to Hit points and Mitigation because we've gone in there with a 60 warden and a 60 guard and took him out rather easily.</p><p> </p><p>oh and whoever came up with the idea that taunts should be resisted from time to time really stinks =(</p>

<div></div>Go offensive stance.mez keeper (if its resisted no big deal)devastation fist on one add. all dps on other addonce adds downrescue on keeper.pluck eyedjinn master strikes. debuffs.I've duo'd this mob before with a coercer. Its very easily do-able with 1 or even no healers.

<div></div>well anything is doable with a coercer considering they can stun lock non epics no problemIf you don't have a coercer, just go 2 healer. I'd also recommend offensive stance as he seems to hit near 100% of the time on defensive stance anyway, with offensive stance up at least you have a decent shot to land some stuns and debuffs.edit: also make sure your healer is curing gloom/static pulse (arcane), those tick for almost 1k, and you can only cure one with self cure<div></div><p>Message Edited by Keldoth on <span class="date_text">01-23-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:00 AM</span></p>

<div></div>I've duo'd Keeper with just a ranger as well <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.He's really not that difficult of a mob, just deal with adds first if you have only one healer while Keeper is somehow pre-occupied (root, mez, fear, etc)

<div></div><div>Yah was simple. He Trapped Keeper, I devastation fisted a Add, He Snipe Shotted the other. Stifle potions + Djinn Master Strike & Chain Stunning FTW.Bruiser & Ranger going balls out on a mob. You really see its health go down.</div>

<div></div>I'll have to go in and do it again since none of you manage to believe, its really quite simple. The harder part is actually getting to him with just two people. Creature of beauty was really easy but I didn't do any of the work ... Just mez'd when I had to. Rest was the ranger Lol.More so, I can solo the ring events in PP as long as I feign in between. Problem is, with a ranger going ae happy its impossible to hold aggro. Must have died 3-4 times before he laid off.

<div>Phayax has some immortal strategies for sure. Not quite sure how she does it but it's impressive.</div><div> </div><div>In my universe, I have the same problem with the Keeper. I have seen a L59 Guardian tank him far better than I can. Although with a shaman, a one healer solution might be viable.</div><div> </div><div>I am a bit better equipped these days and I haven't tanked him for a while, so I don't have any recent experiences. Although no other mobs in Poet's pose a problem.</div><div>I also have experienced similar difficulties with Cazel versus a lower level plate tank.</div>

Gawd, if ya wanna tank the big mobs roll a plate tank <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Yea, brawlers can hold it together on some light Raid content, but for the big stuff you need plate, yea, I'm expecting flames for this, brawlers are awsome group content tanks, baby raid tanks, but theres a reason we have real tanks <span>:smileywink:</span><div></div>

<div>defiler/warden combo ftw.</div>coercers help immensely with this encounter.also, for those of you having problems with some of your aggro issues and resists on fights against oranges, don't forget the token of night which is given to you at the same time as you complete the devastation fist quests in bloodlines. That will boost your crush skills and make up for the loss of those skills in defensive stance.
<div>No reason 2 healers shouldn't be able to keep you up vs. Keeper in average gear. </div><div> </div><div>Make sure you have deadly spirit, stone deaf up. Kill one add with Devastation fist, mez keeper if you can, kill 2nd add, then focus on keeper.</div><div> </div><div>Once you have just the keeper you should be able to tank in mid-stance, once you land a stun or 2 his dps drops dramatically.</div><div> </div><div>Plate main tanks who take all the best gear from raid guilds do tank this better than your average pickup group though.</div><div> </div><div>Argest</div><div>Najena</div>

<div></div>Get his defences lowered so he's easier to hit. Rest is pretty self explanatory.

See what Colossal had to say. <div></div>True, more plate drops then Brawler gear. Oh well. This encounter is really easy though. Healers should be able to keep you up no problem. No need to really worry about deadly spirit, mitigation is almost completly ignored on this encounter. Tank it in offensive stance to land 80% of your stuns as opposed to 40-50%.That helps.

And why the majority of Brawlers will never see proper end game tanking save a select few that has aqquired the gear to reach the "needed" level, but the ones that are that well equipped enough has had plate tanks to get them there so kinda pointless to have Brawlers being a tanking class until the EQ2 dev team sorts armor drop rates out which is never going to happen due to the higher amount of plate wearing classes.</span></div>

<div>Thanks for all the poss and advice. Can now tank Keeper with a sinlge healer (fury lvl 5<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.
