<DIV>Any idea how to level focus? Only way I saw it leveling up at all is if left a DOT on myself after a fight and started mining/gathering while it ticked...it should be maxed by now, but is hanging somewhere around 260/300 and hasn't moved for a while.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Slashing seems to have been stuck for a while as well even though I have been using cestii since my 40s. I used to be able to level it up by autoattacking mobs (greys/greens) but nothing since the combat art changes. I see the slashing damage message come up when I autoattack, but no more skill up?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pointers/tips for either of these two issues are much appreciated...</DIV>

<DIV>Not sure why you'd want to waste your time getting focus up, but...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Find a bunch of blue down arrow mobs that can hit you a lot but can't do much damage (If they can't hit you, focus won't go up).  Harclaves would be good for this because of the heal buff.  Then keep casting Call of the Overlord and recasting it when you get interrupted.  Repeat for like an hour and it should be maxed it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit - For slashing, it's been answered a lot of times.  Bruiser's use the crushing skill for all their weapons, even cestiis and cestus which do slashing and piercing damage.  I think slashing is there because we were originally intended (according to the instructions) to have the option to use swords.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Danterus on <span class=date_text>12-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:40 PM</span>

<DIV>As far as focus, the description says its supposed to help during the course of a fight. To what degree? Probably negligible in avoiding stuns, etc</DIV><p>Message Edited by Blackforgeosb on <span class=date_text>12-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:26 AM</span>

Hi I have recently started a bruiser and am at level 23 at the moment , I have been trying to raise slashing using one of those nice looking claw things but slash just dose not go up , my question is will it ever?  is it a bug ?  or we just dont raise slashing skill ever ? if this has been answered before then please link it as I couldnt find any info on it. Please reply as this is a bit confusing and also if any SoE employess are reading what the hell did you do to the level 20 AQ and why make it so boring <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.

<DIV>Gaige is actually wrong u can raise up piercing w the bug zapper reward in SS. =p although thats the only wpn in game that uses peircing so its not like it is worth raising up.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Gungo on <span class=date_text>12-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:31 PM</span>

<FONT color=#ffff00></FONT> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00>I find it easier to raise focus by attcking a large group of grey ^^ or ^^^ then cast call to raise focus. The only benefit i see though is that you dont get interrupted as easily when casting CAs or spells.</FONT></DIV>

Yeah, since most of our combat arts are quick casting to begin with, focus doesn't really matter. Also, we are avoidance tanks as well.. so it's in our nature that focus is rather unused and unimportant.

Not that raiding focus serves a purpose at all for bruisers. But mine has raised quite a bit in SS off just harvesting and training mobs. I'll be farming rocks for rares, get a bunch of the orcs on me along the way. I'll have a bunch of dots, once i see a node i'll FD and start harvesting and the dots will raise it up. Pretty much like you said. But then again, i dont get interrupted so i dont know why you'd care about it.<div></div>

<P>I got my focus to 300 by taunting about 12 gray (barely) and letting them beat on me while casting hex dolls.  When the hex is almost cast, hit sit and repeat.  Cheap?  Maybe, but when your cast times are all like less than a second, how else are you going to build that stat?</P> <P>It's repetitive, but at least it wasn't as bad as getting my safe fall to 300 <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

Focus doesnt effect anything for bruisers other than harvesting and call of <city>.For a casting class its affect is to reduce the chance of interrupting a SPELL, but since all our CAs can be cast while moving its rather pointless for us.<div></div>

<div>i've got at least 2 of every melee type weapon, but i think gaige is right... now that i think about it, i dont recall any crush and slash immune mobs.  only crush and pierce immune.  i might be totally wrong though</div>

<div></div><div>Raid mobs are either: Crushing / Piercing Immune.Or: Slashing immune. Is no exceptions to this rule except when they aren't immune to anything <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (As far as I know).</div>
