I was not sure where to post this, so hopefully this is an ok place. My question may seem irrelevent to you but *please* answer it to the best of your knowledge because it will really help me. Ok here's my question.

In a situation where a lvl 30 runs across an even con solo npc, then proceeds to try to kill it as fast as possible. Which subclass do you think could kill it the fastest? What about a lvl 50?

In a situation where a lvl 30 is aggroed by an even con solo npc and did not see it coming, which subclass could kill it the fastest? (aka, assassin wouldn't be stealthed for assassinate...wizard would not have range to ice comet..ect) And also for lvl 50?

Thank you so much for your feedback! (assumed since bruisers/brawlers being one of the bigger dps classes, you guys would be able to give knowledgable answers)

I can tell you for a fact t hat bruisers can kill it the fastest. I would use devastation fist on it and kill it in one hit. heh....

I'm not 100% sure who woudl kill the fastest, might be a necro otherwise, but haven't tested it.

Wow, thats news to me!

What the poster above mentioned was a skill that can one-shot kill any non-heroic NPC. But generally, its mages that can deal out the most damage. While I havent played a mage in this game yet, I would say if there were no fear of dying from any class on an NPC. Just the out-right winners would have to be a Wizard or Warlock. Probably slight edge given to the Wizzie.

For the "unprepared" situation.. I'd go with a pet class. They have the combination of doing lots of damage, as well as having their pet take aggro and hits as soon as the NPC attacks you.

Brawlers could survive the attack and kill faster than some (those that need to root and nuke, or stealth attack), simply because they need to prepare before they can solo. We can take the hits up front and kill fast.

However, for straight up killing, sorcerer and predator will kill faster than brawler.. if given the chance.

I have both a Bruiser and a Warlock.. my warlock can kill faster, can kill groups very much faster.

Completely unprepared.....

For BURST DPS...Warlock, hands down. At 30, you can deal 800 points of damage in 4 seconds. Followed by 350 and a 3 second stun to go with it. (Which is enough time to cast root)

Anyone who doubts that warlocks have the best BURST dps, come over to Nektulos server and I will SHOW you.

Message Edited by vorek on 10-30-2005 06:11 AM

Warlocks are better against groups of mobs.

And neither of them will do as well as a bruiser if you get jumped with the mob standing right next to you. You have to root, back up, nuke and hope it doesn't break.

A Bruiser (or any brawler for that matter) can just take the hits and lay down all his big hits at once.. most likely killing it by the time he gets to the end of em. The thing is, most attacks for brawlers are 0.5 second, or 1-2 second cast times. In the 10 seconds it would take to root, back up and cast the big hit, a brawler could potentially have landed all of their big hits, and working on the smaller ones and just starting a second HO.

At lvl 50, I would say conjuror. I've seen my pet kill solo con npcs around my lvl in 4-5 seconds, without help from me. The combination of one of the airpet's skills that does 4 attacks at once, and a nasty proc buff (works like jolting fists line), which deals (with my int and at master i) around 300-500 dmg per hit, the pet can deal around 3.5k dmg within the first second of the battle. Of course this is based a bit on luck, since the pet will have to use that combat art at once, to get all five procs off in the beginning.Add 3 seconds of cast time for the proc buff if not prepared.
