Bruisers as T6 Raid Tanks

<DIV>Ok, we all know our specialty is Poison.  Just curious what Raid mobs you guys have tanked lately, and how well you did.  Personally I haven't tanked much since LU 15.  Gave Terrorantula a good shot, but thats about it.  </DIV>

AFAIK no known reports of bruiser tanking an of the hard T6 raids. Anyone tank Gates, terrorantula (successfully), Djinn master instance, silent city instance, twin dragons etc?  I would presume we can tank lockjaw

<DIV>Well, it shouldn't be that hard.   Figure as long as you get the HP buffs and Mitigation buffs from a good raid you shoudl be able to.  I'm really hoping some higher end T6 fabled armor will have supreme mitigation, because that is the only thing we lack.  We also need an ability that is somewhere along these lines:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>   The next time an attack would reduce you below 0 hit points, it brings you to 1 hit point instead.  Preventing a one hit kill.  Put a 3 minute re-use timer on it or something, but it woudl be an awesome ability for tanking.  Seeing as how we don't CONstantly get hit.   Woudl give us enough time to get healed up.  </DIV>

IMO bruisers won't ever tank crap because  -not many mobs die within 3 minutes  -our taunts suck and dps when tanking something 3+ levels above us is non existent  -we have nothing to bring to MT group so its basicly a waste of one good spot  -our nuke ward is broken  -once taunt are made unresistable (and i really hope it happens soon), guardians will the best tank against every single raid mob in the game (not like they already arent)  -common mentality brawler = dps <p></p>

<P>I know of a monk who successfully tanked Terrorantula.  I know of a few monks who have tanked numerous mobs in Silent City.  Lockjaw for sure.  However I haven't heard anything about the dragons yet.</P> <P> </P> <P></P>

For a guardian, it really wouldnt be something that increases avoidance to much, cause they will never ever in their life have as much as a brawler. But for a Bruiser, A guardian, Dirge, Troubledour, Shaman, and Warden/fury would make an excellent contribution towards Brawler MTing. Lots of agi, defense increases, Parry increases, and wards/super str/hp. This is my idea of the crazy avoidance party, think of some yourself <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</P> <P></P>

<P>Whatever fool.  Sony made all tanks with different resistances, and they want us to tank.  The intent is that a guardian is not necessarily the best tank for ALL situations anymore.  Your attitude is the type of attitude thats keeping good bruisers from getting raid support to actually get out there and Tank stuff.   I know of bruisers who have tanked Terrorantula, and plenty of other mobs.  It's possible, and just takes convincing people to give you a shot.  </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P>The problem is, peopel doubt us.... so if they give me a shot tanking a raid mob.... if I end up dying they say "Bah, you can't do it... let the guardian tank it now"....  but normally on a very hard mob there are at least a few wipes before we all get it right.  Guardians wipe while tanking all the time, and people pick themselves up and try again.  THAT is what people don't seem to want to do for bruisers and it sucks. </P>

<P>i havnt tanked to much raid content at 60, rehotep is prob the hardest, i find i take streaky damage, more so at the start of fights, even using mit buff, stone deaf etc. also finding it a little harder to hold agro as everyone else is nearing 60. occassionally i lose agro for what seems like no reason, its almost like im dropped to the bottom of the agro list. happens on named mostly maybe 1 fight in 50, /shrug</P>

Id like to see other fighters than guardian tanking epic anythings. Youre right. when a guardian gets killed in a raid and everyone wipes, its always just 'ah wel, stuff happens. lets try again' Yet if its someone else, they imediatlly say they cant handle it and try to switch to a guardian tank. I know the feeling...
