Hello everyone. I have been playing World of Warcraft since its release. It was a great game when it first come out. I played a Priest up to lvl 60. I was in a guild that was running the high level instances. Recently the game has gotten repetitive to me. I was getting bored with everything I did. I even tried to make new characters but it still felt repetitive. I down loaded the Trial of Isles 7 day free trial version. I tried out a few classes and enjoyed playing. When I found out that EQ2 was only 20 bucks I picked up a copy. I started a Necromancer at first but then decided I didn't want to be a caster again ( as I was in WOW ). I read up on the Bruiser and thought I would enjoy this class. Well I was right!!! The Bruiser is a very fun class to play.

I am a level 13 Brawler right now with my tradeskill level at 9. I am getting ready to pick a tradeskill profession and not sure what to go with. I seem to have a hard time finding what the end result is for certain tradeskill items. I find list of recipes but not the end result. As in what stats etc... the end result would be. What do you guess suggest is a good trade skill for a Bruiser to go into. Thanks for any help you guys can pass on.

Self-seficient tradeskills: Weaponsmith, Tailor, Alchemist, Provisioner, Woodworker - Personally I'd go with Tailor as it's the most fun of the lot from my xp

With any of these TSs you will be able to make something for your self

Money Makers: Scholars, maybe Tailors and Armourers

Note that most money will be made by the servers top Tradeskillers - Good advertisment reaches the deathest of ears

Fun tradeskills: None found to date

Hope your choice is easier!

Most useful probably Tailor- pretty much cna make all your armour this way, bags to carry stuff, dolls for activatible slots. etc

Most fun probably Carpenter- Once you actually have a few coin to spare and want to get a sweet pad you cna have a ton of fun designing your home making furniture etc. you won;t ever get rih being a carpenter i think the most you cna make is Bank boxes, but it depedns how into it you get.

I have a friend that moved from WOW with me. He is going for jewelry crafting. If I am correct he will get the ability to make our adept 3 skills we need. I have really been thinking about the Tailor route. Thanks for the info :smileyhappy:

No tell him dont go jewlery if you want spells. Jewelry makes scout spells, alchemist make fighter spells. Although jewerly makes nice jewerly you cna use. IMHO you cna always find a alchemist although finding one that will make low level spells at a reasonable price may be a bit harder.

I didn't realize that the spells were made by differant tradeskillers. It seems like giving these abilities take away from the Sage. Oh well I guess I will have to buy them from someone. He is mainly going Jewelry crafting to make the jewelry part. I just thought that the spells would have been a bonus.

Well I thought I was set on tailoring but now seeing that you can make that many differant style weapons I might go the Weaponsmith route. I am sure my ShadowKnight friend would't mind weapon upgrades we he needs them.

If you look at both weaponsmith and tailoring to me it seems you get more out of tailoring. I can make weapons and um thats it. With tailoring I can make bags, Hex dolls, and all my armor. Does this sound right or am I missing something. I do realize at a certain point my tradeskill will end up being there just for cash but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

With this in mind. I can make all my armor, Hex dolls, and bags. Then I could hook up my friend with bags and hex dolls. Then he can return the favor with rings and necklaces. I have narrowed it down to weaponsmith and tailoring. I think I would enjoy either. Which trade skill is more popular? Maybe I will choose the other for less competition later on when I am only using my trade for money. I know eventually thats all my tradeskill will be used for anyways.

here is a cool tip and i hope it helps

i choose weaponsmith as my tradeskill...although i dont tradeskill with much frequency (only 41). i do it when i'm bored off my [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] or there is something good to watch on tv. but my brother started an armorer. and since i can help make his lower lvl bars and what not its easier for him to gain lvls since there are 2 ppl making his materials than just one. he was able to go from 10-20 in less than a couple hours since i supplied him wiht all the stuff and he would just combine the high lvl stuff and not have to worry about making more tempers and bars.

so i suggest you tag team wiht your friend...it also makes things a little more fun since you have a partner to tradeskill with and wont go bored and bang your head into the keyboard at the mindless drull.

I went provisioner, which is useful and all, but wish I'd gone tailor now... as someone else says a lot more bruiser-oriented and more variety...

I have a few levels before I have to dedicate which way to go. I have choosen to be an Outfitter. Once it is time to choose I will have a better idea of the Tailoring and Weaponsmithing to make my choice.

It depends.Do you want to make money?Do you want to make your own items?Do you want to fill a gap in your guild?Do you want a profession with 'simple' combines?Do you want to depend on other professions? The answers are all different.Tailor seems the best fit for a brawler, but may not be the biggest money earner.

Well, I'll just reply based on my experiences... I've got a level 20 Bruiser who's an armorer -- useless to him, but good for the guild. Tailor: You can make all your own armor as well as the pouch for your throwing stars -- and backpacks. Very nice choice. Medium / light armor market seems good at certain tiers, too. Jeweler: You can make all your own jewelry upgrades. Not familiar w/ the market for player-crafted jewelry, as I've not played one. However, based on what one of my friends saw, the market can be good. An advantage over tailor is that you get tons of recipes, so levelling quickly (especially w/ the recent TS changes!) will go faster. Woodworker: You can make a good variety of crushing weapons, though I've found dual-wielding the fighting batons is very nice. The totems are good, too, but other than that, not much benefit to you. Weaponsmith: Hmm. Not very familiar w/ this. Prolly a couple crushing weapons, but otherwise I don't see it being so useful. Again, I've found the fighting batons (imbued, rare ones) to be really good. Alchemist: You can make all your own combat art upgrades and some wicked potions from the rares. Also, like Jeweler, you get tons of recipes. Other classes: Sage: no good for you Provisioner: Power / health regen out of combat -- generally useful, but not specifically for bruisers Armorer: no good for you Carpenter: no good for you

One thing you missed about weaponsmiths --- they make the handwraps you will need if you're going for the 'my body is my weapon' thing. These are hard to find at any tier, on my server...I spend the better part of a week advertising looking for a weaponsmith to make my handwraps (and a set of cestii, in case I ran into any crushproof mobs) before I found one willing to make the lower level combine. Luckily he was quite reasonable... Now... I don't intend to go into tradeskilling with my (much-favored) baby alt, but if I were looking for something I'd pick that strictly because of the lack of availability of my chosen weapons (or lack thereof) My main is carpenter, another alt is provisioner, and that's about all the insanity I can put up with from the TS'ing world...LOL Other things to consider before picking a tradeskill --- provisioning is always useful, keeps you (and your duo buddy) from excessive downtime, and you can *easily* sell off any extras that you don't eat/drink up. Carpentry is FUN! at least once you have the item and can decorate your home *g* (if you're into that sort of thing, if housing is incomprehensible to you don't go carpentry, bank boxes really aren't that expensive) Tailor probably *would* be most useful to you --- but (nonrare) tailored goods are cheap anyway. My warden has no problem keeping in gear, and housing is her main focus. She rarely uses looted gear, likes to support her local tailor Something to be said for being able to make your own spells...*g* Combat arts can be expensive, and being able to provide your own high level taunts etc surely won't go wrong Well that's all I have to say about it...just the thoughts I thought of, when I tried to decide if baby Ppip would do Ts'ing or not... ~Yira

Excellent points on the Weaponsmith -- and all around. Being a n00b Bruiser, I'm still ignorant of my choices of armament. Good stuff to know about the hand wraps. I downplayed the Cestii simply because the one I got for the class training quest didn't compare well to my imbued fir fighting batons.

Heavens, you'd pick a tradeskill just to get fistwraps? Masochistic Provisioner I agree is very useful, for me and guild/group friends. And adds some extra income for little effort (gathering when you see food harvests)... but yeah I think tailor would have been my preferred choice. I do agree that tailor made prices for armour and dolls are good value, compared to plate armour. I was able to get augmented armour pretty cheap (well under 1 plat for chest and legs, and around 30g each for the other slots). So I think like racial choice go for something you like the feel of.
