<DIV>New bruiser here, or will be soon (currently level 18 brawler).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am looking on getting a new weapon when I turn 20.  Up to now, I had planned on shelling out some cash for a Severed Fir and get a bo staff made.  However, last night I took a look on the vendor and saw some really, really nice non-legendary crushing 2-handers for sale.   They looked so good, it got me wondering about exactly what the stats where on the legendary fir bo staff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, first, can anyone point me to the stats on the legendary fir bo staff?  I am not even sure what the exact name of it is.  I searched the web for it for a while, but I didn't find anything that I could be sure of.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Second, do you think there are comparable or even better 2h crushing available that is cheaper than the legendary fir bo staff (for levels 20 to 29)?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for your help.</DIV>

I think you mean 'pristine imbued fir bo staff'.Sorry I don't have the stats though... could try searching on the EQ2 Players web site...I've seen them at under 10g on my server broker. Nice enough <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

IMO, you'll burn thru 20-29 so fast it's not worth buying.  At no point in my career up to level 40 did weapons matter.  I used sub 4g weapons til I hit 43, actually.  Average weapons and armor for your level are perfectly good.  The game is very easy and leveling is cake.  It's not until you hit serious mobs at the endish side of the game that things start showing a difference IMO. Though, on the other side, there isn';t much other use for cash except as fluff til then.  Adept 3's are neat, better weapons are neat, better armor is neat, but none REALLY make a difference except for a very select few (such as FD or self-heal % increases IMO). Nutshell: You MAY see a slightly, if at all, faster killing time.  But I doubt if it's realy noticeable. <div></div>

bottom line if you can afford it go for it.  i've seen alts of high lvl ppl decked out in full legendary gear from 10-40.  they burn through it fast since lvls are easy to go through at those lvls but hey....if you got the money honey...then spend them dimes <P></P>

Ultimately you're playing to have fun.The nice thing with bruisers (and monks) is their imbued armour and to some extent weapon costs are cheap compared to plate wearers. For example my Tier 5 augmented shirt and pants cost under 1 plat the pair (25g for the hide, 15-20g to get each one made), where you'd be paying up to 3x that for the plate versions. If you are set financially to buy imbued stuff at the start of each tier, go for it, because you'll have made the money for the next tier by the time you reach it, especially if you have a good crafting skill too.

I personally prefer to dual-wield the imbued fir fighting batons. Each has a +5 AGI bonus, IIRC, and with the procs and speed, they're nice. Granted, my Bruiser is an Alt and I don't power-level him, so I defer to the more experience ones out there for playstyle tips. I've had lots of fun getting to level 20 w/ Unke (my Bruiser) though. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
