<DIV>I am thinking about starting a new toon so I thought about making a Bruiser. My question is what Race should I pick? I have been looking at the races and here is what I have narrowed it down to unless you can tell me otherwise. I am thinking of making this Bruiser either a Barbarian, a Half Elf, a Human, or a Kerra, but I am not sure which to go with. I am thinking Human due to being pretty even accross the board with starting stats, then my second choice would be either the Barbarian or the Half Elf not sure tough call there, then the Kerra would be my last choice take it or leave it I am not too keen on playing animal type toons. Anyways I would appreciate any of your thoughts, pointers, tips, knowledge, anything that would help me have a fun gaming experience with a Bruiser. My main toon is a 40 Wizzy, and I have now an 18 Summoner---> Necro, a 10 Sorcerer---> Warlock, 22 Pally, and 14 Druid---> Fury. So to round it off so I have 3 evil toons and 3 good toons I need one more for the evil side and Brusier seems to be the toon of choice right now if you are gona play a fighter style toon. I had thought about a Shadow Knight until I looked at the spell list and read some of the forums, then I nixed that idea. So again any help would be very awesome, Thank you in advance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gaazzoo</DIV> <DIV>40 Wizzy / 31 Tailor</DIV>
<DIV>I would say choose ogre/barbarian/dwarf (with betrayal)/troll becuase of the defence / hp / strength / stamina choices they get as racial, however some people swear by ratongas, hehe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With the amount of buffs in the highend game and the high stat bonuses on 50+ equipment its more a matter of preference .</DIV>

You know, I've seen erudite bruisers with quite simular stats as other "recommended" races... So just choose which ever race you like best.

I'd go for the looks. Play a char that you think is fun for you. The stats difference will not play a role after a few levels. Only interesting thing is the racial traits. Some races get this +5defense trait that is probably pretty nice. Not sure which races this exactly is, but I think ogre is one of them. Finnster <div></div>

Finnster is right, cosmetics is the biggest thing.<BR><BR>I think the few races with the +5 Defense are; Ogre, Human, Dwarf; I know there is another.. can't remember though.

<DIV>Well last night I made a Human Fighter---> Bruiser. The reason I went with the Human was that his starting stats were all even accross the board, but when I logged him on I was suprised to see he had 25 STR, 22 AGI, 23 STA or something close to that which made me even more happy. So far I am pretty happy with the new toon. One more question is, should I choose to upgrade his AGI along the way when I get to pick a new specialization? Thanks for all your help so far.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hoak</DIV> <DIV>8 Fighter---> Bruiser</DIV>
I have always gone +AGI or +defense
The bruiser self buff boosts STR and AGI a lot, so you may want to consider STA for some HP. The 'safe' approach is to spread the stat bonuses around, but it depends what flavour you're after. Ultimately when it comes to MT people like to see high HP and avoidance, while the extra STR tends to go 'unnoticed'. Bear in mind too that someone showed recently that 100 STR gives like +10% damage, so +4 STR isn't going to do a huge amount (if that's wrong, would love info showing better...)
