Stone Def not working on Smite?

I sometimes get messages that Stone Def absorbs damage. But it seems that it never absorbs any damage from Smite. I constantly got nuked for 800-900 HP with Smite today when I had Stone Def up. Am I missing something? Or is that a bug? Finnster <div></div>

<DIV>Well, I use stone deaf all the time, and from what I gather, it does not ALWAYS absorb the damage, just has a very high chance to.   Reading the spell, it says that upgrades to this spell increase the chance of it working.  Now granted, you must have it at adept 3 at a minimum, so I ask you if the priest types you are fighting.... are they much higher level than you?   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>   Now, here is the second reason why it may not absorb a smite.   How much HP do you have?   Stone deaf will not absorb smaller nukes.  It will only absorb attacks that would normally deal 10% or more of your max HP in damage to you.  If you are raid buffed and have in excess of 10K HP, then you will certainly get hit by a 800-900 nuke everytime.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>   Lastly, it may just be a bug!  heh</DIV>

yea it appears to be a bug same thing happens to me. also happens against other spell types like poison i believe.
