I just looked over Jeer and it doens't fear anymore. Did we lose our fear spells?

They listened. They made it so our group taunt is a group taunt and not an emergency crowd control. It has an interupt built in now instead.

And they moved fear to it's own, seperate line. Instill Doubt / Panic.

Overall I'm quite pleased this happened... it's specifically what I posted long long ago. It's just a natural way of fixing the original problem.

Fear was seperated from our shout line, which was wise from SOE. To compensate we get Instil Doubt at lvl 30 (8 sec fear on a 1 minute timer) and an upgrade at 50 with increased duration. So no, we don't loose our fear...

we get instill fear at 25ish as well. Its only 8 seconds now but its still handy

Instill doubt and it is at 30. At app1 it is only for 8 seconds... does it increase if i upgrade the spell?

No, what increases is the chance that it will last the full 8 seconds. The later level replacement has a longer duration (12 seconds).

I thought the new system meant that IF the skill lnds, it will last the full duuration? That's what I see, 8 seconds every time it works. While 8 seconds seems short, the mob will run off and sit a distance away for 8 seconds, and it takes a little while, 3 or 4 seconds more, for it to return.

The spell always landing, and the spell going it's full duration. You can get a resist, in which case it's recast will be set to 3 seconds before you can cast it again, or it can land and NPCs have a chance to break it every once in a while (6s?), the higher rank it is the harder it is to break the spell before it has run it's duration. And the higher level verions of this line has a longer duration.

I'm sure this is a really stupid question but wher e the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] does one get upgrades to Instill Doubt? There's nada on the brokers and my other idea, the three freaky trainer types in North Freeport, hasn't panned out either... Maybe I'm blind or half-witted but could someone put me out of my misery, please?

As for it not being available on the brokers, I'd ask your local Alchemist to craft you the Apprentice 4 version of it. Thanks for the advice, but an App IV spookily turned up on the broker the day after I'd posted. Not being paranoid or anything, but I think they're trying to [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] with my head.
Message Edited by annaspider on 09-23-2005 07:20 PM
