I'm considering rolling a Brawler alt, though I haven't decided wether to go Bruiser or Monk yet.I prefer the concept of the Bruiser, however I'm a little bit concerned how they fare when soloing. After the experiences of two level 50 characters I will never join a pickup group below Tier5 I know Bruisers out-dps Monks, however Monks get better avoidance. Playing my Dirge I noticed even a tiny little bit more avoidance can have a huge impact when soloing lower con heroics. I also read about a monk mentioning she was able to solo a bloodthirsty leopard in melee combat, which sounds quite impressive. On the other hand, Bruisers get some Minor crowd control abilities (fear and mezz) that may be quite usefull for backing off in order to stay away from the mob while the recast for selfheal is recovering, especially when used in conjunction with an Agi Doll.I also heard Bruisers get better mitigation, which is always nice. So I'm somewhat undecided which route to take and asking you for advice

Bruiser.

Plain and simple, Bruisers are currently better solo'ers. It's not because we out-dps the monks, or the fact that we can tank slightly better. It also doesn't have much to do with our 15 sec mez or 20 sec fear...

It's all about the heal. The 5 minute recast on the Monk heal is incomparable to our 90 second timer. Ours may be self-only while they can use it on others.. but if you are solo'ing all the time, what's the problem? :smileyhappy:

If you want to solo, go Bruiser.

I didn't know that a monk's heal is on a 5 min timer. Then Bruiser, without a doubt No I only wonder wether I shall go Str or Agi-heavy.I could scream that I sold that nice Bouncer Master 1 last week
Message Edited by Colin MacLaren on 08-09-2005 07:04 AM
