View Full Version : Robe of the Invoker: useful to bruiser? (vs coin from selling it)

<DIV>I was lucky enough to get the drop for this after solo killing in feerrott for like 4 days. It was a very exciting moment when it finally dropped <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  MY question is how useful is it to a bruiser? I've kinda weighed the pros and cons for myself but I would like opinions from other people.  Thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Good to keep around when soloing.  After combat and power drained down low... slap on the robe and downtime decreased.  Then again.... how much could you get for it also matters :smileywink:

<DIV>Robe of the Invoker only increases power regen DURING combat. So putting it on between encounters does nothing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I like my Robe. And I use it when I have to kill lots of grey mobs. If there is still lots of gear upgrades that you'd like to purchase, then it might be worth to sell it. But if you are already dressed in a full set of tailored augmented armor, then I'd stick to it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finnster</DIV>

<P>Thanks for the opinions guys. From your perspectives I would say that the robe isn't worth keeping for me. I'm kinda poor and although I know the plat will come in eventually to where I can afford the top crafted gear, the immediate gain of selling the robe is appealing.</P> <P>What I'm afraid of is that later in the game I'm gonna kick myself for selling it because it might be an indispensible raid tool or whatnot.</P>

<DIV>The robe is not a raid tool. On a raid, you will hopefully have clarity that will give you enough power regen usually. Since bruisers don't taunt on raids, I have a hard time running out of power on raids when I have clarity.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The robe is nice when you have to solo 100 grey mobs or in a group where you are dps role.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And there are other items with in-combat power regen like Efreeti Boots or prismatic weapons. Just that you can't get them solo like the robe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finnster</DIV>

I never use my robe at raids, I have refresh, GEB and prismatics though so usually last through most encounters without draining all my power. Some encounters are more demanding then others though. <div></div>

Ahh k. I think that pretty much solidifies my decision then. Thanks folks.

<div></div><span><blockquote><hr>CosmicAcidGuru wrote:<div></div> <div>Robe of the Invoker only increases power regen DURING combat. The ingame window for Character proves otherwise. In-combat items does Not work outside of combat. Your regen outside of combat is hpregenppt: X, mpregenppt: X, incombat regen is the combatregenppt: X, combatmpregenppt: X. The first two values are zero without any buffs for me, smack on food and drinks and both thoes shoot up to around 20ish with T4 vendor drinks/food. Incombat hp regen remains 0, and incombat pow regen is 12 with just the prismatic, 52 with prismatic, GEB and invoker robe. <div></div>

the character window wasnt designed to be accessible or friendly to players. thats why there isnt even the ability to make a shortcut to the keyboard.  actually lose some mana, and watch it going up with or without these items.  it goes up slower without them on.  I cant comment on the robe, I dont own it.  I own gebs and prismatic and they offer regen when I'm armoring very obviously. <div></div>

<DIV>I use Robe of the Beguiler, and couldn't be happier.  Sure, I look like a troll in a wedding dress... and its awkward crafting in it because I'm a tailor...  But it's still nice for DPS mode.</DIV>
